Too little information

I've done some food tours before. This one was unfortunately the worst. In addition to a coffee, ice cream and jam tasting, we got a sausage and cheese plate with wine in a restaurant. Unfortunately, few to no explanations from the guide. We would have much preferred a direct tasting at the butcher or in a fromagery where we would have learned directly from the seller/manufacturer about the products and their production. I stress that our guide Zoe was very striving and friendly and the food was plentiful. We didn't like the whole concept of the tour.

Operator response

Hello Madam, Thank you for your review, which we are very sorry to hear. Let me explain the background: your booking was over the Ascension Day weekend. In fact, the Thursday before Ascension Day is a public holiday in France. We were informed shortly before your visit that the wine merchant we usually go to is closed over the long weekend, i.e. from Thursday to Sunday. We therefore looked for an alternative that met our quality charter so as not to cancel your tour: artisanal products, a warm welcome from the merchant, and the possibility of making a reservation. We go to a butcher on the Belleville Food Tour because we go to a park afterwards, but apart from the closure this causes, we prefer to go to our wine merchant, who offers artisanal charcuterie on this tour, and to our cheesemonger, who is also closed during your visit, as an exception. I hope you enjoyed the explanations about the artists of the 9th arrondissement, the jams, cream puffs, chocolates, sausages, cheeses and wines: from their origins to the present day, you have certainly learned a lot. We hope to see you again in Bordeaux or Paris.

Wonderful French Food Experience

Our guide Fanny was delightful. She shared a lot of history about Montmartre as we wandered the neighborhoods between food stops. She had selected truly French, small stores where we had delicious coffee with gourmet chocolates, cheeses meats and other charcuterie items with wine, sampled unique jams and spreads, and the most delicious Pastry we e ever had. There were only two couples in our group so it was very personalized.

Operator response

Thank you so much for having taken some time to share your feelings. We hope to see you again in another culinary activity in Paris or Bordeaux.

Anais was great! Food was amazing!

Anais was amazing and very accommodating! She provides lots of information as we were walking around. Even though we joined the tour late, she was patient and gave us amble time to enjoy our tasting. Our favorite was the pastries. Highly recommended!

Operator response

City tour with culinary character

Super tour with Simon. He told sooo much about the Pigalle neighborhood and the selection of treats was really great. Enough time for all questions and wishes.

Perfect tour!

Nadia was our guide and she was absolutely perfect! Her knowledge and enthusiasm was wonderful and it made our tour so much more enjoyable. We tasted great cheeses, pastry’s, jams, wine, beer, coffee, and charcuterie!! Every stop along the way we were greeted by welcoming shop employees and learned so much about the items we consumed! My wife and I highly recommend this tour!

Operator response

So happy that you've enjoyed the Tour. Thank you so much.

A great experience

A guide at the top that perfectly combines explanation on the history of the neighborhood and gourmet break. The greedy stops are of very good quality with very nice traders to explain the dishes tasted. I highly recommend, this is the opportunity to discover a neighborhood differently.

Operator response

Merci beaucoup pour cet avis si important pour nous aider à faire découvrir un autre quartier et notre patrimoine culinaire.

A bit of a let down

Having been on other food tours, I expected more from this tour. It consisted mainly of having coffee in a garden, tasting 3 kinds of cheeses from a shop, 2 sweets from 2 different shops, and the highlight was having some wine and a charcuterie platter. However, I cannot say it was an experience.

Operator response

I am very sorry we haven't met your expectation. Even more after hearing our guide reporting that you 've loved the Tour and gave her a nice tip. With 6 stops and nine different we felt we have reached the best compromise.

One of the best tours of my life!

My husband and I met Isabelle for a private Pigalle food tour with little knowledge that we were about to embark on one of the best tours of our lives. The food was AMAZING, but, more than that, the tour was made special by the masterful way Isabelle walked us through the Pigalle (and French) food scene. We made so many stops! Each was a joy and Isabelle was careful to tailor the selections to our personal tastes. She patiently and knowledgeably answered all of our questions in a conversational, friendly manner that we really appreciated. It was like we were out touring with an old friend. We never felt tired, bored, and certainly did not want the tour to end. It was fantastic. We were further dazzled by Isabelle's generosity and kindness. She had scoped out an Absinthe bar for us to try and sent all of the stops' information to us afterward. She also sent a recipe for a dish we particularly enjoyed AND she offered helpful suggestions for places to eat during the rest of our visit. Do not hesitate to book this tour. I will be recommending it to everyone I know who is planning a Paris visit. It's well worth it!!!!
