Pass by the iconic Notre-Dame cathedral, a stunning achievement of Gothic architecture. Did you know the Notre-Dame has a connection with Sainte-Chapelle? A holy relic, the crown of thorns, was initially kept at Sainte-Chapelle for hundreds of years before it was moved to Notre-Dame. After the 2019 fire, the crown of thorns returned to Sainte-Chapelle until 2024.
This former courthouse and prison is over 700 years old, and is the site of an ancient Roman fortress. It had a prominent role during the French Revolution, housing and sentencing thousands of prisoners including Marie Antoinette.
