Itinerary
We will take you for a day trip along Normandy coasts to discover the main sites of Normandy landing beaches of June 1944 (Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach).
You will start your excursion with the Pointe du Hoc where took place the famous American landing operations. Located on Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, the Pointe du Hoc was fortified by german troops, this is why american rangers decided to take control of this strategic place. Then, you will go to Omaha Beach, Normandy landing beach.
You will also visit the famous American Cemetery, a wide necropolis which overlooks the beach, and the brand new visitor centre. It is a place of memory where personal stories, photos, movies, interactive presentations and objects from that period are collected.
D-Day enthusiasts can also visit the brand-new Musée Overlord in Colleville sur mer. It features an impressive collection of armored vehicles and uniforms. The staging, with reconstituted sets, is spectacular!
We will then go to the city of Arromanches, famous for being one of the historical places of the Normandy landing, in particular for the artificial harbour which was installed there.
Located on the Arromanches clifftops, the 360° Circular Theater offers a fantastic view on the remnants of the artificial Mulberry harbour set up by the Allies. The high definition movie projected on 360° circular screens was produced by the authors of hugely successful Apocalypse movie. The incredible mounting of archive footage tells the story of the crucial battle of Normandy.

Our guide Phillipe was extremely informative of the region, and a knowledgeable historian of France and the D-day events on the shores of Normandy. We found him very accommodating with his time, especially in helping us find particular out of the way markings that were important to us, notably the grave marking of a family member who had lost his life during the D-day invasion.
Thank you so much for your touching and heartfelt review. We’re truly moved to hear that your day in Normandy was both meaningful and memorable. It’s wonderful to know that Philippe’s deep historical knowledge and his thoughtful, attentive approach helped make your journey even more special—especially as you paid tribute to your family member. These personal moments are at the heart of what we hope to offer: a genuine connection to history, and to France. If you ever return, we’d love to welcome you again—perhaps on a day trip to the enchanting Mont Saint Michel or a relaxing dinner cruise along the Seine with breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower. Each of our tours is crafted with the same care and passion you experienced in Normandy. Warmest regards, Alice from France Tourisme
