Description

Leaving Lyon you will cross the Dombes 1000 ponds to reach Pérouges. The medieval village stands on top of a rocky promontory in the heart of the Ain plain. This ancient, fortified city is now ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. You will be totally immersed in another time! Indeed, the rich architectural heritage of the village is exceptionally well preserved, allowing today to go back into the medieval atmosphere: old shops, cobbled streets, round road and fortified church.... the perfect setting for many film shoots! Without forgetting of course, the very famous Hostellerie du Vieux Pérouges in which you will have the pleasure of tasting the famous sugar cake, a great gourmet specialty of the village!
