Orsay Museum Private Tour - Tickets & Local expert guide

Very beautiful museum with lots of beautiful paintings, statues and the building. There was a lot to see and enjoy. I spent several hours at the museum and cost me. Stupid that the cafeteria was so small with long queues of expected guests. Definitely recommend this museum.

NOTE: Our tour included both the Orsay and Orangerie - that option was not available for me to select to review. If you are interested in having an expert take you through the fascinating Orsay and Orangerie, then this is the tour for you! Our guide, Anna, is a PhD in art history and understood how to present the Orsay's collections in a meaningful way. She took us sequentially through the various art movements explaining what was happening and who the key artists were. It was so educational and Anna was able to add her expertise in an not-too-overwhelming manner. She was delightful and intelligent! We spent most of our time a the Orsay and we could have kept going but wanted to see the Orangerie - in particular the Monet Giverney paintings in their exquisite setting. Don't miss either of these museums and, if you can swing it, book @MyPrivateParis to take you to them.

What a great way to visit the museum for first timers. I would highly recommend this tour for someone who has limited time and has not visited the museum before.

We did three tours with My Private Paris (Latin Quarter, Opera and Covered Passages, Orsay & Montmartre). They were all AMAZING. The guides we had were all true experts — typically with a PhD in art history and certified (meaning they did the required year of training so can wear the badge and are often allowed to skip the queue (as we did this morning)), but most importantly they were so enthusiastic (oh, and their English is perfect). We loved all the tours and recommend them all, but particularly enjoyed the “covered passages” tour simply because it was off the beaten path. Highly recommend My Private Paris.

Amber was a fantastic guide and we had a wonderful experience. We got in right past the long lines and were skillfully guided through the impressive collection. Amber's storytelling really helped connect me with the art, which was great because art museums aren't usually my thing.

This was a fantastic tour! Our guide, Lucien, was amazing! He explained the history of the salons, the style of each painting and lives of each of the artists. We learned so much in 2 hours. And he was so excited to share his knowledge and answer any question. His English was superb. We got to see so much w/him and then spent time on our own in the museum after. If you can get this guide I promise you will not be disappointed!

Flo was so outstanding it is impossible to capture in words. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, articulate, great English and he made it fun and inclusive.

Check your dates before you go. Unfortunately, we chose a Friday and they close earlier and also on holiday- that’s on me and should have checked. We chose this tour in order to have a personalized experience and avoid a large group. Unfortunately our guide arrived late and did not have our tickets ready for skip the line so we had very long lines to endure and wasted too much of what little time we had getting in. The museum itself is definitely a must see and worth a visit. Our guide was very disorganized and not very informative; this tour was not worth the high cost we paid. We were very frustrated by the whole situation and ended up dismissing her and cutting the tour short so we can venture on our own. I would definitely return and rent a headset and audio for the day or choose another tour.

Our private guide, Rafael, was fantastic! She was super nice, very knowledgeable, and showed us around this fantastic museum. Plus we were able to skip all the lines. This was probably the best museum experience we had in two weeks in Paris. Absolutely top notch and well worth the cost!
