What a wonderful tour! We had a great time with Tina. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Paris and how it relates to the museum and all of the art and artists. Having a guide made all the difference in the world.
Our tour guide, Isabella, brought the history of Impressionism to life by walking us through the development of the movement and stories of the artists lives. Amazing experience and well worth it.
I've taken many guided tours across Europe—visiting the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, and the Louvre back-to-back in the course of one week—but my tour of the Musée d'Orsay with Boris was in a league of its own. As a skeptic of modern art who was even hesitant to visit the museum, this wasn't just a tour; it was a profound experience that completely changed my perspective on art. Boris is such an expert storyteller that the two hours of the tour went by way too quickly. Why this tour is a must-do: 1. It focuses on the "why," not just the "how." Boris didn't just point out brush strokes; he explained the profound reasons a generation of talented artists deliberately moved away from Neo-Classical art and "sabotaged" their own paintings. 2. He makes sense of the chaos. The artwork in the museum is spread out in a non-sequential order, and Boris expertly weaves you through the collection in a non-linear, thematic fashion. This approach shows the evolution of art from before the Industrial Revolution to the modern era, preventing you from missing the forest for the trees. He masterfully connects the artwork to major historical shifts, like how the camera forced art to pivot, so you never miss the meaning behind the art and the museum's purpose itself. 3. Boris is the best guide I've ever had. His passion and unique approach made me a true appreciator of modern art. While you may forget the technical details of how the artists made their paintings, you will never forget why they did it. Boris is one of the few art tour guides who was able to articulate this, leaving a lasting impression that will stay with you months after you leave Paris. If you're visiting the Musée d'Orsay, do yourself a favor and book a tour with him. It will change how you see art forever—even for stubborn skeptics like myself.
Our tour guide Bella was very knowledge and passionate about the Orsay and all of the amazing art. There’s so much to see, that having a tour guide was helpful to see high points. Too much to take in on one visit, but specially with the crowds. Would like to go back one day during non peak-season, and a weekday and spend more time. We both enjoyed much more than The Louvre.
We had an amazing experience with an incredible guide, didn’t have to wait for entry and we learned so much about the history of Paris & Europe.
Our guide (Tina) was terrific! Gave us just enough really interesting information & not too much. Took us to highlights & pieces we wanted to see. Thank you so much.
Our tour guide was fabulous. She is an artist in her own right so she was able to share so much more in addition to the history and content of the painting. Her description of a pre-impressionist, François Millet brought tears to my eyes. She really made me feel the emotions that the artist was trying to convey.
Our private tour of the Orsay Museum with Boris Petrović was an unforgettable experience. Boris’s extensive knowledge of art history and culture and his passion for the subject matter made the tour truly exceptional. He expertly guided us through the museum’s impressive collection, providing fascinating insights into the works of art and the artists behind them. Boris’s enthusiasm for the artwork is contagious, and he has a unique ability to make each piece come alive with his detailed and engaging explanations. From the breathtaking impressionist paintings to the intricate sculptures, every exhibit was presented in a way that was both informative and captivating. Boris also explained in a very interesting way how the art pieces reflect the culture, the cultural background, and the story behind the art pieces, enriching our understanding and appreciation of each work. Our family was thoroughly engaged and inspired throughout the tour. Boris’s warmth and charm made the experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this private guided tour to anyone looking to deepen their appreciation of art, culture and history.
Our tour guide was Bella. She was so INCREDIBLY knowledgeable! We learned so much from her. It was a pleasure to have her tour us around the Musee d'Orsay. We loved it!
Our tour guide, Amy is an expert in the French art and history. Amy arranged the sequence of art she showed us in a manner that was easy to understand and see the differences and points she described. I see art much differently now that Amy explained how to look at the evolution of the styles and history. Amy made the art very interesting and fun. I highly recommend Amy for GetYourGuide, Musée d’Orsay tours.
