The tour guide Pau collected us from the hotel was punctual, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He fully explained the suggested itinerary however was more than happy to accommodate any wishes we had. The guided tour of the winery was an absolute pleasure, a wonderful experience and probably the best wine experience we have ever had. Lunch was a traditional meal in a local restaurant and Pau was outstanding in supporting Susan who is gluten intolerant The visit to the Montserrat Monastery was a treat but the visit was taken up many levels by Pau whose knowledge and enthusiasm was the staring lighting the visit Cannot recommend this tour more highly
Fantastic day. Pau was an excellent guide that provided a lot of thr history on the drive and great insights into the monestary. We had a fabulous meal and a great tasting in the cellar. The winery was a great tour and a true expert providing the insights into the whole region. Was a fantastic day
Pau was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable about the area and history. He made sure that we saw the monastery, did the pilgrimage St. Micheal’s cross, La Morenetta, lunch at local winery and a winery tour! We enjoyed the tour so much we are planning a return trip! Make sure to ask Pau about his love of music and dance!
Guide Pau is totally knowleable in the history and details of Monserrat. He took us to a great lunch and CAVA wine tasting. He is an excellent tour guide with good English skills.
We had a fabulous day with Paolo, our tour guide. He picked our private group of 4 women up at our hotel at 9:00 a.m. On our way to the vineyard Llopart, Paolo told us the history of Barcelona and the beautiful countryside and towns we passed. The tour of Llopart was fantastic and our guide there was so entertaining and enthusiastic. Paolo picked us up after the tour and we ate lunch the beautiful restaurant before heading to Montserrat. The drive up was gorgeous, even in the rain. (To the vineyard and Montserrat, the roads are VERY windy, we were extremely glad we had taken anti-nausea medicine) Paolo dropped us off as close as possible due to rain and then caught up with us to make sure we found our way in and had our tickets. The tour of the Abby was completely worth braving the weather and the cloud cover on the mountain gave it a surreal aura. Paolo met us at the exit and we returned to the hotel. He was so patient and kind, even though we are not a calm and quiet group of travelers! Highly recommend!!!
We had an incredible day with Fred as our tour guide! He was so knowledgeable about the area, and his passion for sharing its history and culture made the experience truly special. The winery visit was a highlight—beautiful scenery and delicious wines that we thoroughly enjoyed. Lunch at the restaurant was equally fantastic, with every bite as good as the last. The Montserrat tour exceeded our expectations with breathtaking views and fascinating stories. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable day. Thank you, Fred, for a wonderful experience!
The winery was great -- this was the only part of the tour that was. The restaurant we had lunch at was in a small town and it was awful -- it was not the restaurant that was described in the write up. Never made it Montserrat because the traffic was horrible on a Sunday (wish we had known that). However, our guide, Pedro, was very nice.
Dear customer, we are sorry to hear that the tour was not to your liking but we will clarify several points. It was you who asked the guide not to go to Montserrat because of a traffic jam. There was a traffic jam on the road, which can happen and is not our fault, and you decided not to go to Montserrat. We understand that if you had waited 10 minutes everything would have been solved and you were already in Montserrat but it was not like that at your request. Then we regret that the restaurant was not to your liking, although it is one of the proposed restaurants and customers never had any objection. We appreciate your point of view.
My husband and I had a great day with Andy. He is very knowledgeable of Barcelona’s history and shared it with us throughout the tour. It was very beautiful at Montserrat and we enjoyed walking around and soaking it all in. Andy was able to get us in to attend the mass/service and the highlight was to take the special tour to see the sanctuary while the boys choir performed. We had a great lunch at a local town and then enjoyed a tour of a cava vineyard. We recommend this tour with Andy.
My favorite part was the wine tasting experience! It was Soooooo elevated! It was exceptional, but Pau, our guide brought it to the next level!!!! His knowledge of the Catalon culture and history, and all of the cultural nuances was amazing, I consider him a friend he’s so incredibly engaged! I would do it again and again!!!!
Pau was a fantastic guide. We were 2 couples (in our active 60's). Picked us up at hotel in Barcelona, and drove to the monastery. A bit cloudy, but also nearby mountains were cool & mysterious. We did a hike, toured the chapel, saw the madonna, heard the boys choir, and took in beautiful views as sun started to come out. Then off to nearby restaurant for lunch and wine tasting + tour in afternoon, which was also fascinating. Pau was a great guide, driver, and story teller, very personable and engaging (ask about his music and dance background). I highly recommend him to lead this tour!
