- The drive from Athens takes almost 4 hours so please be patient or bring a book and snacks.
- Please note that to reach the monasteries, you will be required to climb stairs. Please wear comfortable shoes.
- The monasteries have a strict dress code. Men must wear trousers and long sleeves and women must wear a long skirt. If you do turn up in shorts, trousers and long skirts will be provided.

Our driver Costos was excellent. It's a long trip from Athens, and having a private vehicle for two couples and a driver who was very knowledgeable about the route and sights along the way made the entire journey enjoyable. He gave us options of locations to stop along the way for coffee along the seaside, a local restaurant for lunch, hot springs to rest our feet, a castle and other points of interest. Meteora is a one of a kind remarkable place and this day is one of the highlights of our trip to Greece.
It was a great trip and Giorgos Twodrive gave us peace of mind on the road and thoughtful arrangements. He took good care of my elderly parents and gave a lot of useful advice on the choice of destinations.

The day trip to Meteora was amazing (sightofathens.org). We visited 4 monasteries and enjoyed lunch in the village. I was shocked by the magic and beauty of the place. I took the tour together with my brother and mother. No doubt we will have something to remember when we become old. I have traveled around the world (I am a scientist) so I have visited many places, but Meteora has something truly special. I have to say that the driver and tour guide, Mr. Giorgos Samoilis, was very friendly and warm at all moments. He knew a lot of the Greece culture and he delighted us with stories about Greek ancient times. If you take the tour to Meteora (or others since indeed I also took with Mr. Giorgos the trips to the oracle of Delphi and Mycenae), I totally recommend you to ask for him.
