A week after enjoying our cooking experience, our family is still talking about what fun it was and how enjoyable it was (and the food was good too). Mary was a wonderful host and we enjoyed learning from her as well talking with her on a variety of topics. Even our 14 & 16 years old boys are still talking about the good time they had at Mary's house.
Mary is a wonderful hostess. She was a pleasure to talk with and a great teacher. We had a beautiful evening in her home preparing and dining on a fantastic meal. I would highly recommend this unique experience!
My partner and I signed up for cooking and dining with Mary. Mary was conversational and easy to get along with right from the start. Mary's kitchen is large and perfect for more than four to six people to move around in it easily. She was quite the natural and gave us direction while still carrying on conversation quite easily. Mary is a self-taught cook and knows each of her ingredients like an old friend. This made the whole experience even more enjoyable because she was knowledgable about her ingredients and how to prepare the meal. What I liked best about the entire experience is that Mary invited some of her friends over to share the meal we had prepared. As travelers who often look to get a real life feel for the countries we visit, this was so amazing to be able to talk and share humor and stories with people half way across the world. Her friends were charming and everyone felt like old friends as we departed. There will always be a special place in my heart of our time in Ireland, and Mary and this experience no doubt is a large part of why our trip was so special. If you're looking for great food, engaging conversation and all the feels, you should book with Mary. I'm still having dreams of that dreamy Irish Coffee Cake with fresh whipping cream and toasted almonds on top- yum!
