Our guide Shimmy was absolutely fantastic. He gave a phenomenal tour showing us some of the hidden gems of Tokyo. He was very kind, professional and thorough. I give him a 10/10.
This was a great way for us to begin our experience in Tokyo. Terri was super friendly and helpful in teaching us basic Japanese phrases, manners, and customs. He even taught us about some Japanese history, which we found very interesting. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see all that the Shinjuku station underground mall and surrounding area has to offer! 😊😎🤩🏯🇯🇵🛍️
Our guide, Terry, was charming, knowledgeable, attentive and interesting, sharing information not only about the underground mall but about Japanese life. Terry introduced us to the vast and bustling food market, the tranquil and beautiful garden and shrine on top of the Isetan Department Store. The views from the government building were stupendous and we enjoyed taking many pictures. Terry went out of his way to take us to seethe Godzilla head and Godzilla Museum. This tour does require significant walking
Nao was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. He even took us up to see the Godzilla head when we expressed interest. He showed us how to make an offering at a shrine and even read me my fortune from my fortune paper I got at Hanazano Shrine. He also took lots of pictures for my husband and I which was wonderful.
Thank you for an amazing experience! We were impressed by the Kabuchiko district and the variety of shops, restaurants, and the Golden-Gai district. Thank you for teaching us how to pray at Hanazono Shrine, as well as the beautiful history of Japan and Shinjuku. Nao was knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating for our group. Thank you, Nao! When we return to Japan, we will book another tour with you. 🙂
I have not been in Tokyo for a long time. My first visit to Tokyo was in 2004. Tokyo is alway rebuilding and it is amazing. A great tour despite the heat.
Nao was an amazing tour guide. No way we could have known or experience all we did in just 3 hours. BEST value in Shinjuku ever. If we go back to the area we have a good idea of where we would go or not go. We love culture and history so we appreciated visiting a Shrine in the middle of this huge city and roof top gardens. Noa insight and perspective of political and religious history was fascinating. We had so many questions I hope he didn't mind. It's mind blowing to see underground food courts. Most elaborate selection of to go food I've seen compared to Europe, US and Asia countries I've visited. The quality of packaging and preparation is untouchable. Now I know why so many or thin. With so many option there's no need to over indulge. Lol. We toured down dark allies which I would NOT go on my own being new but with Nao I felt safe. Historical Brothel area turned into mini bars and eateries was mind blowing. Old buildings existed prior to wars so you can imagine what it was like 100 yrs ago. Of course we had to see Godzilla which was amazing and got great pics, Japan version of Timesquare, trending shopping and most expensive stores I've been in. I could go on and on but you get the idea that we were more than pleased with Nao and his guided walking tour.
I had so much fun. The tour is great, I can't recommend it enough. Shinjuku station is way bigger than you think, you will see some awesome sights such as a Shinto shrine and the view from the top of the metro gov building. The guide is also super friendly, has perfect English and is quite funny.
We had Terry as our guide he was very informative & we thoroughly enjoyed the tour we did not know what to expect but it was better than we thought
Overall great experience! A well planned excursion with a local guide that took me to many spots around Shinjuku I had not experienced yet during my several days in Tokyo. Bring comfortable shoes, you’ll cover some ground from rooftop gardens, to multi floor luxury department stores and then underground mazes below Shinjuku station with opportunities to shop or just people watch. History, culture, entertainment and calorie burning, a great mix! My guide spoke English well, was great company and I really enjoyed the end of the tour as we landed in a small yakitori in Omoide Yokucho for a bit of amazing local skewers and beers and great conversation!
Thank you for choosing our tour. Hopefully, you become a master of Shinjuku a little bit. You often come to Shinjuku right? Next time, you can try to find a new landscape in Shinjuku by yourself. Enjoy Tokyo Best regards Terry
