Boris was great! Obviously, having completed advanced educational levels in this very subject, he was able to provide a well-rounded story of the Jewish people from the days after leaving Eqypt, through the diaspora, the Holocaust, and to present day Paris. It was an excellent two-way experience.
Experience to live, this visit to the Jewish neighborhoods of Paris is rather original!!!!! I loved the Marais district, really typical and full of history as well as the Rue des Francs Bourgeois. Much less the rue des rosiers, which has become too touristy and bling bling which has lost its charm of yesteryear. I am 67 years old, and I have not found the atmosphere I had in 1982
It was absolutely pouring, yet Sonja gave us an excellent tour. We all stopped and bought rain ponchos and away we went! Sonja's English was excellent and she was extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand. She was able to bring history alive and gave us a lot of insight into an area we might otherwise not have seen. It was interesting how she tied Notre Dame into the history, She showed us markings on lots of different buildings and explained the significance of the markings. Considering we sloshed around in ponchos and umbrellas and still enjoyed our tour, it had to be exceptional!
The guide was excellent but the Viator app had the wrong meet-up information. And directed us to a location 30-minutes walk from the actually meet-up location. And so our tour has to be cute shirt by 30-minutes
You need more time for this tour. Make arrangements for both Notre Dame and Sainte Chappelle Be specific about where to meet
Our tour guide was Tina she spoke excellent English and explained everything really well . She didn’t rush she took her time and was very informative and interesting and extremely nice
Barbara was an excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable. We truly enjoyed our time together. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in Jewish history in Paris and Europe.
This tour, and Stephanie in particular, far exceeded our expectations. Her knowledge and sense of humor was a highlight of our trip to Paris. Fantastique!
We learned so much from Boris during the 2 hours we spent with him (which flew by). He was an extremely well-qualified guide who was able to explain how significant eras and events in history (beginning with the Agricultural Revolution!) paved the way for subsequent developments, including the tragedy of the Holocaust. Boris is a true scholar and it was a privilege to listen to his extremely well-informed, thoughtful and insightful presentation of the history of the Jews in Paris. He was able to put this history into a broad context that made even the most horrific events more understandable. Bravo Boris!
Our trip through the Jewish section in Marais was amazing - the experience difficult to put into words. The Jewish presence in Paris is so ancient and rich, and our guide, Anja, made it come to life through her extensive knowledge as well as personal stories of her family. She was delightful to be with and so knowledgeable about the Jewish experience and culture during and after the war. The trip to the Holocaust Memorial was very powerful as was the wall with the names of the righteous...we learned so much on this tour thanks to Anja , and recommend it without reservation.
hi there, thanks for the kind words. Indeed this is a very important tour and we take it very seriously, especially Anya does. I am glad to hear you experienced it properly and I am looking forward to having you as guests again soon. Kind regards, Boris, Paris in person private tours
