At the end of your tour, you'll have eaten some of Istanbul's most delicious dishes and gained a better understanding of our culture and history. As a private tour, everything works around you! Itinerary
First, you will experience the most diverse and often the most fun place in the Asian side of the city. You will discover cool graffities, street art festivals and life in Kadıköy on your way. Here you'll learn important facts about Turkish breakfast and try traditional Turkish breakfast dishes and Turkish tea in one of the best places in town.
Then you will try a hand made pide while learning how they are made and you will watch the chefs making pide in front of your eyes. You'll experience our secret delicious dish.
You will learn about the daily life of locals, Turkish Coffee History and about the fascinating history of our food and culture while drinking your Turkish coffee and wine.
You will pass through the local market in Kadıköy, try a very old traditional Turkish food called Lahmacun and learn about the history of this dish and why important by the locals.
You will walk through the antique street, discover umbrella street and bar street, and learn about the bar culture in Kadıköy. You'll get lost like locals in the backstreets of the city. You will discover the main street with the tram and the famous meeting point of Kadıköy.

This was such a cool way to explore the Anatolian side of Istanbul! Jeremy took us to places I know we never could have discovered on our own. There was a lovely range from simple to fancy foods/locations, and we learned a lot. Interacting with a friendly local was great. Melis was absolutely amazing. She had great knowledge of all the spots we visited and kept me fascinated the whole time. There was plenty of food and drink, so much that I had to take some back to the hotel for dinner, but she was also able to recommend a variety of other spots to try during my visit. Melis greeted us with her warm smile and shared with us many stories to accompany our delicious tastings. We discovered a new part of the city( Kadikoy on the Asian side) which is a food and drink destination. Our favourite stop was midway when we sat in the sunshine at a gorgeous wine bar courtyard and tasted wine and Turkish coffee. Melis taught us how to read the coffee grinds and the shared historical and cultural significance of coffee in Turkiye. This tour is a must for everyone who loves tasting local foods, seeing the sights and learning the culture with a local!

Cold day in Istanbul; we were the only people to sign up and had Jeremy to ourselves. He was knowledgeable and super great to talk with while we were walking and eating. If you want to learn about authentic Turkish food, traditions and every day life of locals this tour with Melis is a must do !! Food was amazing, we learned a lot of new things about Turkey and the highlight was definitely the Wine garden and Turkish coffee fortune telling. I am a big fan of Turkey and know a lot about this country but I still learned a lot of new things on this tour with Melis, who was a wonderful and thoughtful guide btw

We had a wonderful food tour with our lovely guide Melis! We spent a lovely day on the asian side of Istanbul strolling around the streets and discovering small local restaurants. Jeremy was our guide and he was brilliant. He really gave us a lot of information about Turkish food, but also about Turkey and Istanbul. We met with some Turkish friends who live in the area after our tour with Jeremy and they were impressed by the locations and dish selections!
