This experience gets 2 stars because we did indeed see the best spots of Istanbul, but I can't recommend this company. The actual tour guide was not the problem. I booked several tours for this vacation and each one reached out to me the day before to confirm details. However, this one did not and they forgot to even pick us up at the assigned time. We had 6 in our group and paid over $1000. I had to call the morning of before we were standing and waiting to be picked up. I think I woke them up and they scurried to have the driver and guide pick us up, 45 minutes late. Not a big deal, but we rushed our breakfast to be on time. Not the best way to begin vacation. I paid for this tour to maximize our time in Istanbul since we were only there for 1.5 days, however the tour company had their own agenda and had stops along the way. One was a fashion show at the leather shop that felt like a time share trap. The tour guide was helpful and informative and is the only reason we didn't skip out and leave halfway through the tour.
Well, my experience was the tour operator called me on Monday and informed me that some of the attractions were closed on Tuesday and could I change it to Wednesday. I said I couldn’t change it to Wednesday, but I can do Thursday and Thursday came. I realized that I did this tour on Wednesday so I didn’t do the tour because I just did the tour of the day before I would’ve done it Monday and I wouldn’t have to do it Tuesday so I paid twice for the same tour as well as this company charge me twice as much as the first company, so I didn’t have a really good experience with them and I actually did not do the tour
Overall good tour of main sites. The only negative was the pick up was an hour late and the skip the line entry was a little sketchy. This is a beautiful city and be prepared to walk. One stop for a fashion show was a waste of time unless you’re into that.
Our guide Emrah was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Istanbul and brought each site we visited alive, with timelines and cultural traditions and context. It is definitely a walking tour and we really enjoyed the exercise, taking in each experience.
Due to Friday prayer, shopping and quees made this a bad experience. We paid for history, but was guided to an expensive fashion house 😖
Good comprehensive visit to historic sites covered several important sites fully packed day Our guide was pleasant and had a lot of detail
Excellent tour and guide. Well looked after. A lot of walking so best to avoid summer months if the heat will get to you. A fantastic experience well worth the effort.
Istanbul was the capital of the settled Eastern Roman and Ottoman empires from 6500 BC, where more than twenty emperors and patriarchs ruled for over 1600 years. Surrounded by the Marmara Sea, Boğazici and Haliç, Istanbul’s Historic Sites were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Sultanahmet region, Eminönü, Sirkeci, Beyazıt, Kapali Çarşı, Lantern Balat and Boğaziçi are the most important tourist attractions and sights.
Amazing tour guide. Prompt collection. Handled all queries very quickly and smoothly. Will definitely visit Istanbul and book through trip advisor.
The tour is the guide were good. The Enterprise puts what does not meet in the schedule. We forgot to pick up at the hotel, we had to contact and find the guide at the meeting point, by taxi, 30km from the tour. And finally, they didn't keep their promise to leave us at the hotel. We had to take a taxi again, 30 km back. Note that using taxis in Istanbul is quite complicated, no one speaks English, are rude and drive dangerously. I do not recommend
