Saint Barbara Coptic known in the Eastern Orthodox Church as the Great Martyr Barbara, was an early Christian Lebanese and Greek saint and martyr. Accounts place her in the 3rd century in Heliopolis Phoenicia, present-day Baalbek, Lebanon. There is no reference to her in the authentic early Christian writings nor in the original recension of Saint Jerome's martyrology
his was the synagogue whose geniza or store room was found in the 19th century to contain a treasure of forgotten, stored-away Hebrew, Aramaic and Judeo-Arabic secular and sacred manuscripts. The collection, known as the Cairo Geniza, was brought to the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England at the instigation of Solomon Schechter. It is now divided between several academic libraries, with the majority being kept at the Cambridge University Library.
The church is dedicated to Sergius and Bacchus, who were soldier-saints martyred during the 4th century in Syria by the Roman Emperor Maximian. The most interesting feature is the crypt where Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus are said to have rested. The crypt is 10 meters deep and, when Nile levels are high, is often flooded.
visiting Khan el-Khalili , Khan el-Khalili is a famous bazaar and souq in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. Established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era and named for one of its several historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has since become one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike. It is also home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops involved in the production of traditional crafts and souvenirs. The name Khan el-Khalili historically referred to a single building in the area; today it refers to the entire shopping district. Tour Finishes with drop off at Customer Hotel in Cairo or Giza

I appreciated the detailed explanation of each church and synagogue, as well as the general info about Egyptian culture and customs.
There was no visit to the Ben Ezra synagogue, which has been closed for about two years and is not yet open. The tour company should never have offered a tour to a major site that is closed. The tour guide tried everything in her power to make it a good tour, paying close attention to what I wanted to do, but she couldn’t open the closed synagogue. We had tea and a sweet at a local place. We tasted kashary at another local place. We went to a mosque and two churches. But what I wanted to see who was the Ben Ezra synagogu, and the tour company, Emo, was irresponsible to sell a tour to a place that is closed for renovation. Also, if you are having lunch, ask them to take you someplace other than the Soirée restaurant. It is a tourist trap with hundreds of tourists and a bad buffet. The tour guide was put into a very bad situation.
The guide was very punctual, messaged me on the exact hour of pick up time at the hotel. The guide explained a lot of things, from Christian history around Egypt to general facts about Egypt throughout the day. Weve also asked to be dropped off at the airport and he constantly checked the time and adjusted the itinerary to make the time work. I would highly recommend this tour and the guide.
Ali was a lovely guide with great knowledge. He was easy going and organised - turned up early to picknus up. The driver was also really good and made the trip very relaxing despite the crazy Eygptian roads. The felucca trip was the perfect ending to the day. Ali is also a budding photographer so we came home with lots of cheesy pics.

Ayman Gabri, the guide, is the best choice in Cairo. The price that I got was one third of the price that hotel has offered. Amazing experience. The driver Ehab, was extremely polite, he opened the door to me every time I was about to enter the car. The car was perfectly clean, smelling good. They got me water, snacks, sandwiches on the way. Ayman drove me to the pyramids, and to the Castello Castle. His English is perfect and he was extremely polite and helpful, explaining every single detail and taking A LOT of photos of me! I highly recommend this guide.
