Total waste of money, with a guide who couldn’t speak understandable English

This tour was a huge, huge waste of money. Since I was a kid, I have wanted to go to the D Day area. We planned our Paris trip around this special event. After looking at various sites, I selected this tour which was much more expensive than others. My logic was mistakenly that the cost made it a high quality one. My wife could understand about 30-40% of our guide’s English. I understood even less. We heard and saw other guides speaking in clear English, using their own photo albums and giving interesting details of what happened during D Day. Our guide simply drove us, and dropped us off so we could walk around the museums and read what was on display for anyone to read. This was so disheartening. It’s not just that we wasted a lot of money, but that we had looked forward for many, many years to have at least a phenomenal educational experience.

Guide was nice, but was...

Guide was nice, but was not communicative. We expected a tour guide who would explain what we were seeing.

Operator response

Hello Mr Marcon, This is not my feeling, I commented in Pointe du Hoc and Omaha beach what happened in 44 , the name of the divisions, how they were equiped, statistics, the schedule of the events, the german positions with the number of soldiers, the weapons and so on. We have visited 4 strong defensives bunkers, a museum, the cemetery...I 've just seen you are asking for a total refund, whereas I drove you in Bayeux to see the catedral as an free extra ! I definitely don't understand, all the comments are goods. Regards.

A moving experience

We had a wonderful tour of a very special place. Our guide was more of just a driver since his English was not very strong (which was okay because our group was very familiar with the history), but he was very nice and polite. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the drive, cemetary, and views, despite it being winter. We also loved the Overlord museum- the set-up of actual artifacts made it very real.

Not to be missed!

I expected to enjoy our Normandy tour, but had no idea just how blown away we would be. The experience was beyond anything I can put in words, just a must see, once in a lifetime experience. Of course, Juliens knowledge, and pleasant demeanor just added to it. We did it in one day from Paris. A long day, but definitely doable. I highly recommend this tour!

Normandy D-Day Tour

We had an excellent experience from the time our tour guide, Julien picked us up at our hotel. It was over a 12 hour day traveling from Paris to the Normandy beaches, touring, visiting museums, and the cemetery, and back to Paris, but will worth it! The history, the experience of standing RIGHT THERE where men fought and died is overwhelming and emotional. It was a day my wife and I will never forget! Thanks for the experience! Well worth the price!
