The Great Pyramids of Giza, which consider the most iconic image of Egyptology and an absolute must see on any trip to Cairo, discover this marvel and the only surviving site of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, although it is 2,000 years older than any other wonder on the list.
You can have a close-up look at The Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands by the huge funeral complex with its lion body and the head of King Chaperon. The largest statue on earth with 72 meters in length and 23 meters high.
The Great Necropolis Sakkara to see The Step Pyramid, which is considered the first in Egypt and the first rock-cut building by humankind in the history, built for third Dynasty pharaoh Djoser by the exalted architect Imhotep. It is considered an important part in the process of the pyramid evolution, which were made from the simple Mastaba to its widely known form. In the near distance, you will also see the pyramid of king Titi, the pyramid of king Unas.
The pyramids of Dahshur are the oldest pyramids in Egypt after the pyramid of King Djoser in Saqqara. They were built by King Senefru, the founder of the Fourth Dynasty and the father of King Khufu. He built two pyramids in this area, the first called The Bent Pyramid and the second called The Red Pyramid. The Red Pyramid is the first true pyramid in all Egypt after building the Step Pyramid. Which was built by Djoser and the bent pyramid that was built by King Snefer in Dahshur region.

Sakkara was good, Pyramids was ok. Perhaps need a bit more time exploring more and walking around the area both in morning and sunset

I booked the Christmas trip to Cairo with a visit to the pyramids and Luxor. The organization was excellent, the friendly staff is very professional...some even spoke Italian but everyone still communicated in English. The tour was very interesting and inspiring. The choice of restaurants and hotels was also very thoughtful and appreciated. I recommend them!!
