Ravello Founded in the 5th century as a refuge from the constant barbarians’ raids, who led to the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the city began to prosper thanks to the wool art and the trade across the Mediterranean sea with Byzantium. Under the Maritime Republic of Amalfi and the principality of Salerno, Ravello achieved its maximum splendor. It is located above Amalfi and is connected with it through a characteristic and colorful road, full of lemon trees, typical from this coast. You can’t absolutely miss the main villas and palaces of Ravello such as: Palazzo (Villa) Rufolo, famous above all for its gardens, once belonged to one of the most important families of the town Palazzo Tolla, actually the town hall Villa Episcopio, which was built in 1944, the residence of King Vittorio Emanuele lll Villa Cimbrione, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view The Auditorium Ravello is a charming place that seems to be located beyond the clouds, with its alleys rich in the typical local shops selling ceramics and limoncello juice, that make it enjoyable for everyone , even for those who do not have much time to spend but willing to have a full idea in a short time.
Positano-Vertical city where only the sea is horizontal, used in Roman times as a holiday resort, it’s the first city of the famous Amalfi coast, reaching it by car you get the impression that Positano emerges from the rock every morning, instead it has been there for thousands of years, only going down to the center can you have the perception of being in a unique place, the road has only one direction of travel given the small size of the place, the narrow alleys overlooking the sea make it perfect for those who love picturesque photography, crossing from Piazza dei Mulini, descending towards the beach, you arrive at the church of Santa Maria Assunta, which stands a few meters from the beach, from there you can have a spectacular view, other places of interest are, the recently inaugurated Roman archaeological museum, an archaeological site consisting of two crypts, the frescoes in the imperial era style are the only example of wall paintings of Roman villas on the amalfi coast. In the late Middle Ages the coast was fortified with watch towers, the oldest tower is that of the bank, whose cylindrical shape is still recognizable today, which was typical in the Angevin era, datable to the thirteenth century. In the middle between Fornillo beach and Marina Grande is the Trasìta tower, datable to the viceregal age, in 1817 it was sold, and from that moment it is private property. One of the most popular activities of Positano is the path of the Gods, which consists of a walking path on rustic and rocky roads, which starts from Bomerano, and ends in the upper part of Positano
Amalfi-Founded by the Romans, Amalfi in the ninth century became the first maritime republic and contender for domination of the Mediterranean to the other powers, Genoa, Pisa and Venice. In the eleventh century Amalfi reached its maximum splendor, followed shortly after its fall, with the conquests of the Normans before and the looting of the Pisans later. In 1343, a tidal wave triggered by a storm destroyed much of the city. The points of interest of Amalfi are many, one of its main attractions is the Cathedral of Sant ‘Andrea di Amalfi, dedicated to the patron saint of the city, in full Arabian and Sicilian style, the cathedral is flanked by various other churches and an overlap of various churches from different eras, so it should be considered a complex. The city also has a rich history connected to the paper industry, Amalfi is world renowned for high quality paper produced using medieval techniques , in the city there is the paper museum, a unique place where you can discover the tradition of the precious paper of Amalfi. Every year, as usual, a crew of Amalfi rowers participates in the traditional regatta of the ancient maritime republics, against the arms of Venice, Pisa and Genoa.

Six family members picked The Naples Tours because they are flexible and tailor the tour to what you want to see. We chose to visit less crowded areas along the stunningly beautiful Amalfi Coast. The day was amazing and we were so lucky to have Paulo for our driver. He is professional and knowledgeable of the area. He knows the history of the areas and also was amusing with trivia and fun facts. Paulo took us to a wonderful place for lunch where we had an excellent meal and also enjoyed an olive oil tasting. Very knowledgeable guide, both about the best spots in the area and history. Comfortable transportation and easy stops. We had some rain along the way, the guide was proactive to adapt the itinerary to have lunch while waiting for the sun. Recommended!

Paolo and Andrea were wonderful to work with---informative, on time and really wanting you to have the best experience. Our trip, unfortunately was cut short due to land slides and bad traffic---Amalfi coast may be better enjoyed by water if possible, but if you are going to do land travel, this group is an excellent choice.

Paolo was our driver and a tour guide. He ,picked us up from Naples train station and drove along the coast line with three stops He told us magnificent stories about history of this area and he also gave us an overview about about each little village situated along the coast line. We really enjoyed our trip with Paolo, he dropped us off at the hotel, All 8 hours we have spend with Paolo were informative and very interesting! Paolo greeted us at Naples train station with a great big smile. He was very knowledgeable of the Amalfi Coast and Naples. We were very impressed with his historical knowledge. While in Salerno, the weather decided to mess up my plans for a boat tour to the Amalfi coast. Determined to not let the weather ruin all our plans, I searched for alternatives and found this full day excursion . We were so lucky to have Paolo as our driver. He was very attentive and customized the tour to our preferences. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but he’s really easy to chat with and made the day really fun. We last minute asked him if we could stop for a late lunch somewhere with a view. Paolo made some calls and was able to get us in at an amazing restaurant. I hope I’m able to visit again someday and when I do I’ll definitely be booking another excursion with Paolo!
