In the second millennium BC, Mycenae was one of the major centers of Greek civilization, a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece, Crete, the Cyclades and parts of southwest Anatolia. The period of Greek history from about 1600 BC to about 1100 BC is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae. According to Homer, the city of Mycenae was founded by Perseus, the son of Danae and Zeus. By Agamemnon’s time the Royal House of Atreus was the most powerful of the Achaeans (Homer’s name for the Greeks).

Excellent opportunity to visit the surroundings of Athens, immersing yourself in the ancient history and reality of modern Greece. Very impressive the archaeological site of Mycenae and the passage on the Corinth Canal, interesting view to the city of Nafplio, a surprising tourist destination with Byzantine and Venetian past. Bus comfortable enough, with a well prepared guide (in English).
Our driver, Kostas, was amazing and so friendly! He made the whole day a lovely and perfect experience, he was giving us facts on everything we passed and really made us feel welcome. Our trip wouldn't have been the same without him! Kostas was also very helpful after the actual tour, suggesting lunch spots and other areas of interest whilst we were out and about, which we really appreciated. We got to see all of the sights in good time, without being bombarded by lines. We felt like we made the most of the day, seeing Corinth Canal and Mycenae (including the Treasury of Atreus!). The communication before the trip was great, helping me know which slot to book for Mycenae as admission tickets weren't included. However, the actual Mycenae site itself didn't seem to be too strict on times.
A trip I have always wanted to do so I was going anyway! The company made it all very easy, everything ran on time it was helped by a plesant guide and driver. Found the tablets a bit clumsy to use on the site. But they are a good idea.
Another great trip, my second. Again the coach was lovely and modern, our guide Athina was so helpful and knowledgeable.
Well organized tour. Full day of amazing archeological sites and the lovely city of Nafplio. I can recommend this tour without any doubts.
trip to the Corinth Canal and then on to Mycene Stopped for lunch at George's recommendation at Melinas and our hosts were fantastic. George Samoilis was our guide and we can't say enough about him. He went over and above with showing us the sights, accompanying us and ensuring our safety. His knowledge was fantastic and his insight was amazing. If you ever get a guide with this Tour Company, please ask for George- he is one very special person Love you George
