Fontainebleau Palace & Barbizon Artists Village

Description
There’s more to France than legends dare to unveil. Get used to this royal feeling as you’ll visit Château de Fontainebleau is one of the most visited areas and one of the largest French royal châteaux. It has everything that a tourist needs; a touch of history, a touch of art and a lot of other things that are ready to be discovered. The Palace dates from the medieval age and served as a royal residence for the French kings. Now it is a museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Barbizon is the charming village that became the birthplace of the Barbizon School, where artists gathered in the 19th century to paint nature directly from life. Nestled at the edge of the Forest of Fontainebleau, its quiet streets, galleries, and historic studios still preserve the spirit of the painters who transformed landscape art.

Our guide was very informative, friendly, and professional!! He gave us walking tour of grounds before palace tour and was very helpful
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was truly a pleasure guiding you at Fontainebleau and sharing the history behind such a special place. I’m really glad you enjoyed the walking tour and the overall experience — moments like these are exactly why I love what I do. I hope to welcome you again in France for another journey!
Amazing history and beauty to behold.. enjoyed every moment.. and our driver Doru was spectacular!! Would love to return
Fountainbleau and Barbizon were beautiful. The car and trip all went well; however, for what we paid, we expected more of a tour. We knew the guide did not go into the palace with us, but we thought ge would provide more information throughout the day. He seemed like a very kind and intelligent man, but he barely talked the whole day. Also, there was a driver and the guide, so we definitely thought the guide would do just that. So glad we took the trip but for the money we had hoped for more information.
When you’re looking for a day trip out of Paris, Fontainebleau is a good one. It’s a Palace that holds much history of Napoleon, emperors, kings, fine art & and amazing garden.
Thank you very much for this
The tour guide/companion were wonderful and kind. This happen in the middle of the pandemic and I had to take a PCR test in preparation for another trip and they were super kind to take me to the lab and wait for me (I happened to be the only person in the tour, otherwise would have been impossible). They were flexible, kind and knowledgeable. The car was in the great conditions as well. Once we arrive to the palace, I was on my own, they don't go in with you. Le Barbizon was a cute chic town but everything was closed and there was little or nothing to do there.
