It was quite a pleasant experience! Highly recommended. Frank is a great teacher, very patient; and we are grateful he welcomed us to his studio on a Sunday. For a change of pace and artistic discovery, I would recommend this workshop!!!!! . This private art lesson with Franck was great to generate the open artistic vibe in Paris. He was very patient with me as we picked out a medium (water color painting), a subject work to inspire (Matisse) and then he guided me on how to start to lay it out, set the main blocks and add in the finer touches. We finished 30 minutes early so we did some drawing exercises too. This beautiful, authentic art studio experience was initially intimidating, but quickly became the easy, relaxing journey I hoped it would.

This class was amazing. I chose instruction on drawing and water color. Franck is a patient instructor who guides with a gentle hand. I learned so much and will continue to work on my lessons from Franck. I would take this class again.

I booked this for my 13-year-old daughter and me (not an artist, mostly along for the ride). The directions to get there were very clear and it was easy to find. While we took a taxi, it is easily accessible via metro. Franck showed us his work and got us set up to sketch and paint. My daughter picked an Asian piece from a book while I picked a Matisse from another book. We sketched and painted (watercolor) our images over a couple of hours. She loved it and her piece looks amazing! Mine, well…I’m a photographer and haven’t touched waterpaint since elementary school! It was a fun morning.

I was rather disappointed in this event. Rather, my daughter was very disappointed with this gift that we gave her for Christmas. From the reviews it seemed like this would be a good fit for my artistic daughter who is considering studying in Paris. While the Gentleman was very nice, he really did not speak very much English and did not instruct or guide my daughter. Additionally, he asked my daughter if he could take pictures of her to which she replied NO, and yet he proceeded to take pictures of her. The description on Viator says : "Both a sculptor and a painter, Franck welcomes you to his studio where you can enjoy a 3 hour lesson in drawing, painting or sculpture. This will be an opportunity for you to discover minimalist art." Unfortunately, there was absolutely zero guidance. Not really what we had hoped for our aspiring artist.

This was the most amazing experience! I've wanted to take an art class in Paris for years but never had the opportunity until now. I was unsure what to expect, but Franck was so helpful, attentive, and patient throughout the entire process. He helped me decide on a subject and art form, and he balanced giving helpful tips and letting me express myself artistically perfectly. He didn't overtake the process, but he also didn't leave me totally to my own devices either (which is a good thing, since I've never done a watercolor painting before!). I was so pleased with the final painting and will be sure to do this again if I come back to Paris. I'll frame and cherish this artwork forever! Warm thanks to Franck for being kind enough to open his studio and take his time with me on Bastille Day of all days!

The art workshop with Franck was one of the best tour decisions we could have made on this trip. I have never really painted anything, but we got to learn about him and the art he produces, and we got to try our hand at producing our own art with his guidance. It was fairly easy to find on Apple Maps and the instructions were clear. We started promptly at the time on the ticket and ended at precisely the time promised with our own artwork in hand. Over the workshop we spoke about art, our inspirations, and what we were interested in learning more about. And while his English is very good he (patiently) helped us practice our French. The space itself is beautiful and is exactly what i fantasize an artist living in France would work in. His work that he has displayed is beautiful and not like anything we’d seen elsewhere. He is patient and helpful without being condescending. I’ve never painted and he walked me through how to do it from the very basics of sketching to mixing colours, to adding depth. I would do this every trip to Paris and it has inspired me to try practicing when I get home. We’ll worth the ticket price for an afternoon-long activity. I’d recommend people come with some ideas for what they’d like to paint, because even though he has lots of images and books to choose from you won’t want to waste a minute of instruction time. If it helps, I chose a photo from our trip to paint and my husband chose to reproduce a master work. Two thumbs up!
