Crucis Saints Peter and Paul Walking Tour of Rome

Description
Our Saints Peter and Paul Tour is a unique pilgrim experience in Rome that explores the lives and legacies of the Pillars of the Church. Both St Peter, the first pope and Bishop of Rome, and St Paul, a Roman citizen of privilege, were martyred here in the heart of the empire that ruled the known world in the early years of Christendom. Our devout Catholic guides tailor a pilgrim experience that combines faith and tradition with the history of the Church.

Itinerary
Tucked away in a hidden piazza like so many of Rome’s great basilicas is that dedicated to Peter the Apostle, the first pope and bishop of Rome, and more specifically to the most important of his relics. Known as Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli in Italian, this fabulous church is of course the location of the chains that bound St Peter before his liberation in Jerusalem. Catholic tradition has it that when these chains were put together with the chains that bound St Peter in Rome years later, the chains miraculously fused together. The Basilica of St Peter in Chains is also home to Michelangelo’s Statue of Moses.
This idyllic complex is of course the site of St Paul's martyrdom by decapitation and of the miracle that followed.
Our Crucis Saints Peter & Paul Pilgrim Tour concludes at one of the four Major Basilicas of Rome just a short metro ride out of the historical centre. St Paul Outside the Walls is the final resting place of St Paul the Apostle and is the site of one of Rome’s four Holy Doors that will be opened during the Holy Jubilee year of 2025.

Holy cow! What an experience. Tom was sensational. Great energy on a VERY hot day. Learned a ton. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend. I might even do the same one again. Thanks Tom!! Good luck on that FIFTH degree!!!!! 😉
We went on the Sts. Peter and Paul tour and it was great! My husband and I are both pretty devout and know our stuff, but our tour guide Tom managed to tell us things we didn't know before. Matthew organized our trip and even though we had to readjust as one of the crypts was closed, it will still a great tour. Communication was great. Don't sleep on Mamertine Prison when you go to Rome (that is a stop on this tour). In Catholicism, oftentimes a holy site or Saint's remains are buried under a church or in a gilded box, and you never really get to experience it. Mamertine is in an almost entirely raw state. THIS place is exactly the same as it was 2,000 years ago. We stood in the exact same room as Sts. Peter and Paul did and it was very emotional for me. We loved it and highly recommend Crucis Tours when visiting Rome.
Thank you so much!
A once in a lifetime tour. When booking tours for our first trip to Rome, we looked at the typical places to visit, but I knew there had to be more. This tour explored the treasures hidden in plain sight for those seeking. My husband and I were in awe of our guide Tom–he’s brilliant. He started at the beginning and led us through time as we went to each site. His passion for sharing his faith through his knowledge of history and art was evident in his delivery. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and felt like we were on a walk with a very intelligent and humorous friend. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
