Excellent detailed hands-on tutorial on the preparation process of the much-loved, exquisite Moroccan couscous. Can't wait to do it myself at home following the procedure learned
We Had the most amazing cooking experience, wonderful food, great hostess and so informative. If you are interested in a special, exceptional clean, authentic cooking experience please visit. We loved it xx
The class itself was great! We enjoyed the experience very much. However, our reservation said that pick up from our lodging was included but we were told that it’s not included. So at the last minute we had to figure out transportation. The taxi driver did not know the area where the cooking class was and left us at the bottom of the hill. We had to walk uphill quite a distance. Then the cooking class location had several flights of stairs.
Highlight of my trip to Morocco. My host was awesome, she made me feel right at home. I made the chicken couscous which was delicious, although I’m sure anything else you make in this class would be great. You do not want to miss this class!
What an amazing cooking class and a warm welcome into their family home! The food and experience was amazing
This was an amazing experience. We were able to travel into a residential area and the class was in a home. Not only did we cook some wonderful food, but we also were able to see what a lovely home and family the hostess had. Brian spoke beautiful English and was very kind in instructing us on preparation. We made vegetable couscous and Zaalouk as well as a cucumber and tomato salad, mint tea and sweets. We would highly recommend this experience.
Amazing cooking class! We got to choose which items to make from a great list of traditional dishes. Went with my mom and sister, and it was great! Super peaceful kitchen, pretty living room, and friendly and warm help with making dishes. In addition to the side salad she already includes, when we asked some questions about different salads, she decided to throw another one in! We also really appreciated being picked up by a taxi, made the experience super easy.
This cooking experience was amazing, Yassine welcomed us into her beautiful home and taught us step by step how to make dishes from a selected menu. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to taste authentic Moroccan food.
This was a mixed bag for me. I love taking cooking classes when I'm abroad because I enjoy learning for to make local dishes and learning more about the culture and cooking methods. This proved impossible since the cook didn't speak any English. The experience started with a pickup who was solely there for transport to the cook's home. Once there, I was greeted with the cook and I think, her grandson? Her grandson did most of the translating but since he wasn't in the kitchen most of the time, we had to communicate through hand signals. The cook was super sweet and she tried her best to communicate with me and the tagine turned out fantastic, better than some of dishes that I've ordered at restaurants. I was surprised that I wasn't given a recipe so that I knew how to make it again. Beyond the communication barrier, the transport was a bit odd. I was told that it would be 40 dirham each way, I give the guy a 100 bill and then asks for an additional 10 and gives me a 20 back. Did he just give himself a tip? The cook was sweet but I think I would've enjoyed it more if she and somebody couldn't explained the process more.. I'm paying for a class after all I'm here to learn.
We had a great time at Btissam, we felt like home. The class was great and the food delicious. Yassin took care of picking us up and bringing us back. It was perfect, I recommend this activity.
