Best view

If you want an excellent vantage point across Rome, you should visit San Angelo. However, do not take this tour with a guide booklet. Totally meaningless booklet. But you can do without a guide booklet to have a glass of wine overlooking St. Peter's Basilica. It also said that you must bring your ID. We didn't have to present anything like that.

Rome castle.

Guidebooks are not provided. The tour is self guided and requires several sets of stairs as well as ramps.

Superb and imposing construction

Next to the Vatican on the banks of the Tiber, which is accessible via the Saint Angel Bridge and its statues, is this fabulous roundhouse briquette construction with many rooms to visit. During our visit we were able to admire weapons rooms, paintings and lithos, the Paolina room and in the old apartments of the popes. On the terrace that dominates the building sits the statue of the Archangel Saint Michael who is at the origin of the current construction.

Worth the walk to the top

There is not a great deal to see but walking the steps and paths all the way to the top is amazing. The view from the top is a special treat as you can see for miles across the Italian sky line. There is also a space along the walls near the top to enjoy some food and drink, although seating is in high demand.

Operator response

Beautiful view from the castle

Beautiful view from the top of the castle of Rome and its monuments. St. Stone Basilica, the river and its bridges, the castle itself is devoid of furniture

Operator response
