Great experience

We did the half day camel and quad bike desert tour. Pick up point near our Riad was hassle free. Quad biking was first, we were given instructions and helmets and then taken off around the desert by our young Berber guide Simu. He was really helpful and patient, and stopped to give several tutorials to improve our driving - and didn’t mind three middle aged women not wanting to go too fast! Great experience, slightly scary at times if you’re not used to quad bikes, but we felt well looked after. Next we had beautiful headscarves put on, and got on our camels Madonna, Fatima and Michael Jackson. They looked healthy and well cared for. We had a relaxed meander around for about half an hour or so - that was enough as camels aren’t the comfiest of rides! Then a really lovely lunch - salad followed by two tagines, chicken and veg, sitting overlooking the hills. There was a photographer for the tour, and we finished by looking through all the photos. We bought the package which was €30 for digital versions of almost 150 pictures, some of which were really great (and funny!). There was no hard sell though, we didn’t feel pressured to buy at all. Overall a really fun and different day.

A really brilliant day

We had a brilliant day, from start to finish the experience was amazing - the booking, communication, staff, all of whom were incredibly friendly and kind. Lunch was absolutely delicious and we love the photos. My daughter was worried about the welfare of the camels but they seem very happy and well looked after and it was very nice to see them roaming around after our ride. As a family of five we all really enjoyed the day and would highly recommend. Thank you for a great day and lots of lovely memories. Pocock Family

Wonderful full day Camel and Quad trip in the Agafay Desert.

Amazing time! One of the most memorable excursions I’ve ever done and I travel often! Me and my wife went in early December 2025, so high temps were not a problem—it was perfect for this adventure. I reviewed other cheaper options outside of Marrakesh but am so glad I went with this one. I got the impression that many alternatives are a bit brief (ex: 15 minutes on a camel, mainly for a photo op) and are going to have a high headcount of tourists to keep the prices down so low. That was not the case here- in fact, we were they only ones there! And we had about 1.5 hrs on the camels and 2hrs on the ATVs. I understand a couple guests were coming in for dinner later that evening, but the value difference to what became a full private day made it so much more enjoyable of an experience. I can’t say what exactly you’ll experience for a headcount, but being that there’s 7 camels, they obviously aren’t going the high volume route and it makes for SO much better of a memorable desert trip. Also: Concern for the welfare of the camels was a big factor in my picking this company, as some of the cheap options are a bit concerning, based on what I could gather from reading lots of reviews. At Dunes & Deserts: I was able to go in and see all 7 of the camels up close in their shelter and they all seemed happy and enjoying their lunch at the time I popped in, with plenty of shade and water and roaming about as they wished. Here’s details so you know what to anticipate: I booked for their full day camel and quad trip, with a 9am departure. (about $129 USD or 110 Euros as of Dec 2025). Lunch and transit to/from the center of Marrakesh was included. WhatsApp communication about the meeting place/time was provided and the driver picked us up at 9am outside Café De France. About a 45 min ride. He even stuck around all day at the camp! It started off with a welcome mint tea. Then we spent about 1.5 hours on the camels with Said leading the way. I understand they don’t do this in the afternoon in summers when it’s too hot for the camels- but being that the temperatures were about 71 degrees Fahrenheit (22 C), it was a perfect experience. That was followed by lunch. Chicken tagine at our pick of spots along the camp. It was quite good- I was impressed. It also included some veggies and bread. Everything was at a very relaxed pace—there’s certainly no rushing you here. Then we spent about 2 hours on the ATVs with Nourdine leading us for this part of the trip. I’ve never driven one before (or a dirt bike or anything of that sort) but it was easy—and in a couple minutes had the full hang of it and a big grin on my face the entire time of tearing through the desert. Helmet and goggles provided. And FYI: The desert gets more and more impressive the further you go. Especially the last half of the trip with the Atlas mountains in the background and nothing else in sight other than rolling hills. It was truly impressive. By 4pm the time at the desert and camp concluded. The driver then drove us back and we were back in the center of Marrakesh at the drop off spot at the edge of the Medina at about 4:45pm. Other things I’ll note since this is things I was looking for when choosing: Too many of the cheaper options seem to be closer to town and not quite as remarkable of a desert experience. Lots of power lines messing up the photos when you look through the others. And while there are 3 homes in vicinity and some power lines at the starting point, once you make it out a bit, that all disappears and it’s very impressive. Also, there was a photographer who took photos along the way, including some quintessential camel pics at the beginning and various ATV shots along the way, then a little photo shoot at a high point. All the pics were available as a package for a very reasonable price and I felt were certainly worth the money. You won’t be able to take photos while on an ATV unless you have a GoPro, so this was a good way to go about it. In conclusion: I recommend booking with this provider. I felt compelled to write a review based on the positive experience and I’m glad we did it. Thank you to everyone involved for making this a great experience.

Agafay in the ❤️

Our experience also included dinner, which was delicious, prepared with excellent quality products. At my request, the guys taught me how to prepare the fabulous Moroccan tea: the one prepared by them, by the way, was the best ever. The camel ride was really exciting and the camels are kept very well. The quad bike experience was super adrenaline, thanks to Rabii, who is spectacular, and Hafid, who captured these special moments.
