Maiden’s Tower - A Brief History The Maiden’s Tower (Kız Kulesi) is a legendary tower located on a small islet in the Bosphorus, near Üsküdar. Its history dates back to ancient times, around 400 BC. It has served as a watchtower, lighthouse, and customs station. The tower is surrounded by myths, especially the famous legend of a princess locked away to avoid a prophecy. Beylerbeyi Palace – A Brief History Beylerbeyi Palace was built in the 1860s by Sultan Abdülaziz as a summer residence for the Ottoman sultans. Located on the Asian side of the Bosphorus, it was also used to host foreign dignitaries, including Empress Eugénie of France. The palace combines Ottoman and European architectural styles and is known for its elegant design and seaside beauty.
