More than recommended.

The Acropoilis and Highlights of Ancient Athens with Outstanding Guides

Spending time with skilled guides visiting the Acropolis and others of the major historical sites in Athens is a wonderful experience. Guides are necessary to strengthen and deepen the experience. We were fortunate to have two outstanding guides. Theo, with whom we had been on a tour previously, to Sounion, arranged our tour and accompanied us to all of the sites other than the Acropolis (see below). He is a truly wonderful guide and a delightful person -- he has a deep knowledge of and passion for Greek history, mythology, and language; and an engaging personality that makes each tour a memorable experience. Gari, who was our guide for the Acropolis, is also a terrific guide, very engaging and knowledgeable with a clear love for what she discussed with us.. Both were able to make history come alive for us. And both were able to engage with our 16-year old grandson fully to make the experience a rich one for him. We cannot say enough good things about them both. We were fortunate to have Theo twice and Gari for the Acropolis part of the trip.
