Itinerary
This private, 3 hour Vatican tour has been designed specifically for families with children. You’ll hear more about the Vatican Museums’ huge collections, including unrivalled treasures, such as Raphael's Rooms and the Gallery of Maps. See Michelangelo's famous Sistine Chapel and his Pietà, plus benefit from skip-the-line access to the Museums. A fun and engaging tour that you and your family will never forget!
During your trip around the Vatican, your children will participate in games and win prizes whilst learning more about the Vatican’s collections. The first items you will see on the tour are the array of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, as well as the sarcophagi of Empress Helena and Constantina, the mother and daughter of Constantine the Great. This is followed by a walk through the Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Tapestries, Sobieski Hall, and the lavishly decorated Raphael Rooms.
You will then arrive at the Sistine Chapel, one of Italy’s most popular attractions, and still used today for the papal elections. The chapel is the location of Michelangelo's 'The Last Judgment' and other frescoes depicting Biblical stories, such as the creation of Adam.
It is then time for a tour of St. Peter’s Basilica where you will explore the numerous side chapels with their hidden crypts. You will see Michelangelo’s Pietà and your guide will explain why this is the only work that he signed. You will gain an appreciation of the mastery that went into the creation of Bernini’s altarpiece and learn how Michelangelo triumphed over his contemporaries for the honour to paint St. Peter’s magnificent dome.
The tour will end in the magnificent St. Peter's Square

We did a tour of the Vatican with Tomaso. It was amazing! Tomaso was absolutely fantastic - so passionate about the subject matter, energetic, funny, and so knowledgeable about the Vatican and all of its rich history and art work. He was also great with our kids, and made it really fun and interactive for them. Highly recommend Tomaso!!
Francesco was amazing! He was so sweet with our girls and the crowds were pretty large, but he kept them engaged and occupied while waiting for people to queue. This tour was the highlight of our trip to Rome!
Francesco was great, he knew a lot of history, And the private tour was great, he explained everything 100% happy with them
Francis was our tour guide and he was just wonderful! Very friendly and understanding of our slow moving toddler. He had different things for her to look for throughout the tour which helped engage her as well.
Claudia did a great job with the kids (8 and 4.5). The tour was so interesting and we appreciated not having to wait in lines.
