The tour part was a long drive through the mountains with tourists stops where they want you to purchase. We have done 6 Viator tours so far in Morocco and found that every tour takes you to these places. Ait Ben Haddou and the Atlas studio was awesome. We had a nice gentleman at Ben Haddou as a guide. He spoke some English but he couldn’t understand our questions. Movie studio was very interesting and fun. The guides very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. The reason we are only giving this 4 stars is although our driver was very nice and picked up at riad on time He didn’t speak hardly any English. We booked an English private tour. Also the drive through the mountains was harrowing to say the least. He drove extremely fast passing all other cars even on the hairpin turns. We felt very unsafe. We had done two other tours in the Atlas Mountains and did not feel unsafe on any of the prior tours.
Many thanks to our driver Youness who gave us a lot of information during the journey. Moreover the visit of aït ben haddou is really interesting. Not to be missed Do not hesitate to do even if a little far from Marrakech
My driver, Mohammed, was amazing throughout the entire day. He was punctual, very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about Ouarzazate and the Atlas Mountains region. The guided tour in Aït Ben Haddou was excellent, the food was incredible, and the scenery was truly spectacular during the whole day. I highly recommend this experience.
This tour was a rich cultural experience for my husband and me and it had everything to do with our driver, Youness. Yes, the tour was everything described. But, Youness took it to the next level for us. You will spend a lot of time in the car with your driver. Youness talked with us about the Berber culture and language as we drove through the Atlas Mountains to Ben Ait Haddou. We stopped along the way to take pictures. He took care to make sure we were in the very best location. Our trip occurred during Ramadan. Later at sunset, Youness invited us to join him at a roadside cafe to break his fast. He insisted on sharing his food and tea with us, and we spent the evening discussing Islam and the similarities between our respective religions. This genuine human connection was one of the best experiences my husband and I have ever had while traveling abroad. It served as a powerful reminder of how much we have in common as humans. It was something we will never forget. Thank you, Youness for being so kind and open in sharing your culture with us.
We had a great day on this tour. Our driver Youseff was very professional and nice. The drive through the Atlas Mountains was incredible views. We stopped and took some good photos. Youseff was flexible with stops for whenever we needed a coffee or toilet break. The guides at both Atlas Studio and Ait Ben Haddou were knowledgeable and personable. We personally liked Ait Ben Haddou the best and would probably rather to cut Atlas Studios out to shorten the length of the tour as it is a very long drive however that is all a personal preference and we still enjoyed our time at Atlas Studios. I am glad we chose the private option for the tour as it offered more flexibility and would have been shorter than the group option time wise. The food at the lunch stop was also lovely and it’s a cool vibe at the terrace restaurant. I would definitely recommend this tour to others!
Ait ben Haddou was fabulous! It is worth a visit for sure. Due to weather and road closures, we had to postpone our tour and the company was accommodating and responsive. Our guide was more of a driver than a tour guide so the information provided was very limited. However, he was personable and willing to do whatever we liked. Overall it was a fine day. Long, but great to get out of the city and see the Sahara.
Great tour but a very long one with our wonderful guide Youssef. We visited two sites, had lunch and made several stops in interesting places. Highly recommend it.
Divine experience, amazing landscapes, very helpful and lively guides, I recommend the agency, very organized and great management, 5 stars
the day was wonderful! The driver, Yunes (I hope it's spelled that way) had the patience to wait for us due to a slight delay due to a problem on the location, despite this he was from the beginning very kind. I would add with pleasant surprise that he was also very cultured because during the scenic tour he told us a lot about the territory and history with many details. This made our tour fantastic and constructive. Overall, the visit to the studio atlas and Ait ben addou was also really satisfying. Great experience!
Just wow ! It was unique experience i ❤️❤️❤️❤️ i strongly recommend I CAN SAY THAT IT WAS MY BEST INVESTMENT Thank you 💕 !!
Very nice experience. The driver was on time at the meeting point and was very friendly. The panoramas and visit of Ait Ben Haddou were magnificent. It was very hot though!
Our driver Youssef and our guides to the kasbahs were lovely and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate was closed due to damage from the 2023 earthquake. 4 hours is a very long drive when one of the main sites is completely inaccessible. Viator should not continue to sell tours is the location has been closed for nearly two years!
What can I say. The whole trip was amazing and all our guides were fantastic and really looked after us. Highly recommend taking the private tour option.
We had the private tour to be able to spend our time more individually (we left out the film museum, because we didn't care). Our driver Youssef was a delight. He constantly checked in on us and made us feel very comfortable. He stopped a lot for pictures, as we had asked, and he drove safely and efficiently. Our guide Oussama was also very lovely and dedicated and showed us around Aït Ben Haddou with great attention to detail. Finally I have to admit that we had booked another tour originally, with another provider. That was a scam. But when we contacted this provider, Morocco Destination Expert, they immediately came to our help and had our driver ready within 40 minutes. They really saved us. I highly recommend booking with them.
Our driver mehdi was very polite and caring , and tried to do his best to show us every corner that we request , our local guide that tour provide us ( yusef / osame ) was super great too , very fun and took a lot of great pictures from us , totally recommend this experience, road was a little bit tiring but worth it
Our private guided tour from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou was a mix of stunning landscapes, cultural insights, and a frustrating surprise at the end. The day started smoothly at 7:00 AM. Since cars weren’t allowed near our riad, our driver, Yusuf, arranged a nearby meeting point and kept us informed via WhatsApp. He was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we were comfortable in the VW van. Though the journey was long (3 to 4 hours), the scenic stops—coffee breaks, an argan oil cooperative, and breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains—made it enjoyable. A big plus was that there was no pressure to buy anything. In Ouarzazate, we explored a historic Berber kasbah with a knowledgeable local guide who even helped us capture great photos. After the tour, we were offered mint tea and had the opportunity to purchase beautifully crafted Berber and Tuareg carpets—completely optional. Since we weren’t interested in the movie studios, we opted to spend extra time at Ait Benhaddou instead. Lunch was at a large tourist-friendly restaurant with tagines and pizzas priced around 140 DH per person. Then came the biggest disappointment: upon arriving at Ait Benhaddou, we found out it was closed due to the final day of filming for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie The Odyssey. This was the highlight of the tour, and we weren’t informed in advance. Had we known, we would have appreciated the chance to reschedule or choose a different excursion. Instead, a young and enthusiastic Berber guide provided insightful explanations, but we could only admire the city from afar. The return trip to Marrakech took 3.5 hours, bringing us back at 6:30 PM. While the journey was beautiful and the guides were excellent, the lack of prior notice about Ait Benhaddou’s closure left a bitter taste. A great tour overall, but better communication from the tour operator was needed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the scenic journey, cultural insights, and the guidance provided throughout the tour. Your kind words about our driver Yusuf and the local guides mean a lot to us. We completely understand your disappointment regarding Ait Benhaddou’s unexpected closure. We sincerely regret that this affected your experience, especially since it was a highlight of the tour for you. Unfortunately, the original closure was scheduled to end the day before your visit, but at the last moment, the production team extended it for an additional day without prior notice. We were only made aware upon arrival, just like you, and we deeply regret not being able to inform you in advance. We truly appreciate your understanding and your recognition of the efforts of our team despite this unexpected situation. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will continue to work on improving communication in such rare instances. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a flawless experience in the future!
Very nice visits and successful change of scenery. Our driver perfectly adapted to our desires and needs. Highly recommended!
The Ait Ben Haddou was closed and no one told us that in advance. The trip is super long and if we had been warned that it was closed, we would not have taken the tour
View was amazing of UNESCO heritage in Morocco. Enlightened. We will return as we were Limited in time but we definitely enjoyed it
Great day in Ouarzazate (Atlas studio, Ait bin Haddou). True to plan. Our driver Youness, it is well taken care of us: punctual, with little care. I recommend.
