3 Days Masai Mara Camping Safari

Here’s a detailed review of my experience of my safari in Kenya with best camping yours & safaris: I flew to Kenya at the end of January for a short 9-day trip. I booked my flight only 2 months in advance, with no initial plan and no clear idea of prices to experience a safari. I emailed around 20 agencies, hotels, and camps I found most on Lonely Planet and Routard to define a budget for the 3 days I dedicated to the safari. After the first round, I stayed in contact with only 6 agencies. My criteria were pretty simple: as we were two girls travelling, our number one concerns were safety and cleanliness. Out of the 20 agencies, Imraan, the owner of Best Camping, quickly caught our attention. He was available and reassuring at every step of the process. We never felt overwhelmed by someone just trying to sell a package, which was quite common with other agencies. Instead, Imraan gave us advice and followed along which made everything feel more human. This family business really holds strong values. After a couple of exchanges, we managed to build a trust relationship and create a custom experience that aligned with our values of respecting the environment and staying away from irresponsible mass safari tourism. Regarding the type of experience, we wanted a private tour as long as the price stayed reasonable. We didn’t want to join a group tour because our time was very short, and we were afraid it wouldn’t allow us to fully live the experience. Price-wise, Imraan offered something fully justified. Keep in mind that park fees are $100 per day per person, plus gas, car, food, accommodation, camp staff, and guides/drivers…. I really recommend keeping this in mind when discussing prices, to value people’s work and keep tourism ethical. Best Camping also helped us with the visa application and provided the necessary documents, which was super efficient. A few days before the trip, Best Camping checked all the details, and once we arrived in Nairobi, they made sure we arrived safely at our hotel. The next day, early morning, the driver picked us up and drove us straight to Best Camping’s tented camp, located right next to Talek Gate, which was very practical, only a few minutes from the park. The 5-hour drive felt smooth from nairobi to the camp, and the driver was super lovely. Once at the camp, we met the on-site Maasai team, very lovely and attentive. At the Camp the food was filling and Delicious, the tents we really clean and specious, the camp is safe, and has good atmosphere, day and night security on-site, also the camp is right by Talek river so you see animals even at the camp! Our program started as planned and was fully respected. Everything went well, they managed everything, and all we had to do was enjoy. We had a landrover, and our guide was very educational, we learned so much about everything we saw. We never rushed; we took the time needed to enjoy every animal, and trust me, the feeling is indescribable. at this period the parc wasn't crowdy it felt good to be lost in large plains. At the end of our journey, they drove us back to Nairobi. Out of this lifetime experience, I gained not only unforgettable safari memories but, most importantly, a strong relationship with the entire team. I can’t recommend them enough to anyone wishing to live a great, human, ethical, and memorable experience. I am very much looking forward to coming back and exploring more of Kenya with Best Camping Safari & Tours. The agency truly showed its many years of experience and professionalism.

We did 3 days of private safari in Masai Mara with Best Camping Tours, and the experience was wonderful!! From the very beginning, Imraan has been very present. Responsive on WhatsApp, before departure as during the stay. We feel accompanied, which is reassuring when we organize a remote safari. The camp is clean, well maintained, and the riverside location is superb. In the evening, we enjoy sunsets, and sometimes animals come to drink nearby. Simple, but striking moments. The meals are varied and very very good, well beyond what is expected for a camping safari. Abdullah, our driver and guide, was excellent. Safe driving, very good knowledge of the park, lots of calm. He knows how to take the time and make every outing pleasant. We had a little unforeseen during the stay. Imraan and Abdullah handled it quickly, without stress, and without impacting our experience. What stands out above all is the human aspect. The welcome is warm, sincere, almost family. You never feel like you're just a customer. The value for money is really excellent, hard to beat for a private safari of this level in Masai Mara. We recommend Best Camping Tours, Imraan and Abdullah without hesitation. Nestled along the serene River Talek, this camp truly captures the magic of the Mara. From breathtaking sunrises and sunsets to the peaceful sound of the river flowing by, every moment here felt special. One unforgettable morning, a family of elephants appeared on the opposite bank — it felt as though they had come to greet us personally. We were a group of 17, including kids, and the staff handled everything with such warmth and energy. Even though we were on self-catering, they went out of their way to help us cook by the fireplace, always smiling and never seeming to tire. The campfire by the river became our favorite spot — cozy, safe, and magical. Sitting around the fire, hearing the distant sounds of wildlife under the starlit sky, was an experience like no other. The Masai warriors guarding the camp gave us a real sense of security, letting us enjoy the wilderness without worry. The rooms were comfortable and lit by solar lamps, which added to the rustic charm. We had carried a few extra solar lights that came in handy, but it never felt like an inconvenience. Our game drives were fantastic, thanks to a well-maintained vehicle and an amazing guide who made sure we saw the very best of the Mara. This camp is budget-friendly, family-friendly, and full of heart. We made memories that will last a lifetime and can’t wait to return. Our stay at Best Camping Campsite was honestly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home with their warm welcome and genuine hospitality. The tents were perfect, cozy yet stylish, with just the right mix of comfort and that rustic safari feel. Waking up to golden sunrises and falling asleep to the sounds of nature and stargazing was something I’ll never forget. The game drives were absolutely amazing! Our guide wasn’t just knowledgeable, but also super passionate, which made the whole experience even more special. We were lucky enough to see lions, cheetahs, best of all a leopard in the tree and so much more. Every drive felt like a new adventure, full of incredible sightings, great stories, and plenty of laughter.

We found Best Camping Tour in a guide book and thanks to that book! We were able to get in touch with Imran who took the time to explain every possibilities and then making sure that every aspect of our tour was exactly how we imagined. The campsite is really nice, situated next to a river between the threes. The landscape view is wonderfull. We were taken care of by some super friendly locals whom were part of the staff. During the safari, we were able to see plenty of animals. Amazing experience.

We had the best time in Kenya during our recent trip to Masai Mara and Mombasa. My niece and I used Best Camping for the 3-day Masai Mara adventure. It was a great few days in the “bush”. Our driver, Simon, drove us the Nairobi, through the park on safari and back to Nairobi. The safari was amazing. We saw multiple prides of lion, hyena, cheetah, so many elephants, zebra and even a leopard. We also did the hot air balloon experience which was amazing. The owner met us at our hotel, gave us “travel snacks” and was so welcoming from start to finish. We arrived to the camp and the beds were comfy, tents were clean, and we had a private bathroom/hot shower. The guys at the camp were so friendly and we felt very safe and secure. The cook, Joseph was excellent with both meat and veggie options. This was a great “bush” experience that I hope to do again soon.

From the moment we arrived until we left everything was great. We saw lots of animals and our guide was very patient and experienced and just a great human being. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

This was a tremendous experience. Imraan made everything easy for a beginner! Every detail was taken care of. Our driver Mohamed was perfect - knowledgeable about all the animals we encountered, warm and funny also. I would recommend Best Camping and Safaris to everyone I talk to.

We are leaving the Masai Mara with great memories and Great service provided by Imrans team at Beat camping Tours and Safaris !!! We stayed at Camp Tipilikwani and it really was a great experience. Our driver Steve was awesome and showed us every single animal with great photo shot opportunities. The food at the camp was great we had the chef come and look after the kids and ask them what he could Prepare for them each day. Roselyn who was managing the restaurant took great care of us. Joseph the camp Manager was very helpful and always there to Assist. The best camping team organised our flights and transfers and the whole trip. Left nothing for us to do which was great! Definitely speak to Imran and team when organising your trips !!

Lovely experience with Best camping tours. We saw many animals , we saw all the big five animals . It was a safe ride from Nairobi to Masai Mara with comfortable seating and a very nice greenery view. The entire trip was being taken care of by them and we had a memorable experience.

Fulfilling experience over all. Well trained and informative people. Enjoyable experience. We drove from Nairobi to Masai Mara in the land cruiser which was very comfortable and had a relaxing journey and then the Mara park ride was very comfortable and safe too. At the lodge the driver took full care in making sure we had our meal time and park time are coordinated. We were preinformed and asked prior to the park visit for our packed lunch and they arranged it. The lodge was suggested and recommended by the Best tours themselves which was at a very appropriate location right next to the park and Mara village, good people and good food. The to and fro ride to Mara had stoppage at a point which had lovely view and souvenir shopping and lovely to have a coffee or tea break. We have enjoyed our trip and felt very welcomed and protected with the Best tours. Highly recommend. They have great services available and they specialize to larger extent.

All of it. From pick up at the airport to the drop, everything was perfect. Imraan and his staff, took real good care of us giving attention little details. Our driver Christopher knew a LOT about the jungle and that was a great help in spotting the animals. I will definitely come again and repeat the safaris with them
