After booking, we were contacted in advance via whatsApp. The response was quick and courteous, and I felt very secure. The pick-up on the day was on time and a very kind and gentle driver. It was a different car on the second day, and the driver and guide were very kind and really friendly and heartwarming. I thought about going on my own, but the tour is the right way to visit Merzouga and Aït Benhaddou as it will inevitably be a lot of travel. There are many tour agencies, but this one is really kind and courteous and recommended!
This experience was definitely unforgettable. I went with my friends for our grad trip and we have no regrets! We definitely felt safe the whole time which was one of the most important aspects for us as well as having an awesome time. Our driver Zaki was the absolute best, we loved him!!
Zaki our driver and guide was absolutely amazing and we had a wonderful time with him! The sights were so beautiful and the Sahara was absolutely amazing. They set up the accommodations for you so you can relax and enjoy!
This review is for the part of the tour we rode with Zaki, on the first day from Fez to the desert. Zaki was an amazing guide during our ride from Fez to the desert. He was very helpful and informative throughout the drive, and he worked hard to make sure everyone was having a great time and was maximizing their experience on the trip. He also had a great sense of humor, which set the tone of a positive experience right from the start of our tour. During the trip, we misplaced something of value, and Zaki really went out of his way to help us find it. We are forever grateful to him for this help, but we also wanted to mention that Zaki helped lead the whole tour group to react to this situation with optimism and friendship, which drew the group closer. (In fact, we have stayed in touch with some of the group after the tour was over.) Finally, given the slight delay, Zaki focused on getting us to our destination on time so that we could ride the camels before sunset. When we did finally arrive at our destination in the desert, we were very sad to leave him as our driver, though we ended up getting a great driver for our second leg of the trip (desert to Marrakech) as well. The tour itself was an amazing time. On this leg of the itinerary (Fez to the desert), we enjoyed seeing the town of Ifrane (which really has a distinct feel from the rest of Morocco) and the very scenic drive through the Middle Atlas mountains and the Ziz valley. The camel ride was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we chose the luxury tent option which was nice due to having our own bathroom (but definitely not necessary for those traveling on more of a budget and willing to share facilities). The tour van fit about 7 people, and this size was a great balance of comfort and social interaction. The overall three-day tour was an experience of a lifetime, and we highly recommend anyone who is interested in using this method to get from Fez to Marrakech and see the desert. The only possible downside going with this company is that there can be a different group and guide for the first leg (Fez to desert) and the second leg (desert to Marrakech). However, in our case, this was not a problem and even was possibly a value add because we had amazing guides and fun companions on both legs of the trip. Finally, we really appreciated the flexibility of booking with this company because our riad in Fez was able to book the tour for us just a few days in advance. Other companies we explored were already booked, or perhaps even worse, not willing to commit to a tour at all until they had enough sign ups, which we viewed as too risky for our travel plans.
The tour overall was great - who can complain about seeing a sunset on a Camel in the Sahara desert! I chose the "luxury" option and had a private air-conditioned tent and bath - as good as any riad! An element that made the trip great was Zaki the driver - you spend three days in the van and so imperative to have a great driver! Zaki referred to all the passengers as "family" and as the days went by, we seemed to have morphed into one! Two days after the tour was over, I was walking outside the medina in Marrakech along a busy street and I hear a vehicle honk and someone yells my name. It was Zaki driving by - I wave back and smile: it was like seeing an old friend! Highly recommended!
We booked a 3 days 2 nights in the desert, the scenery is stunning on the road and the conversation also thanks to Zaki, it was inspirational advice and always kind with all.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco! Our driver Said Jamai made the trip into the dessert fun and easy, stopping along the way to let us take pictures and taking us to interesting places while telling stories, making jokes and playing great music while we were in the car. He brought a great energy to the trip. The camp we stayed at was great with more amazing staff and activities like a sunset camel ride and sitting around a fire listening to traditional music. The food was also incredible. Breakfast and dinner were included at the camp with a ton of options to choose from and during the drives in and out of the desert they stopped for lunch at places with great food for good prices. Overall this was an experience we will not forget and would recommend it to everyone!
We had a very pleasant tour. Our driver Jamai DJ (Said) was great, energetic and super attentive to everyone's needs, doing whatever he could to ensure everyone has a good time. Thanks to him our trip was full of smiles, music, good vibes and fun times. Would most certainly recommend Said to anyone looking to do a desert tour. Greetings from Romania :)
We had a great experience with Jamai DJ (Said)! We learned a lot, he was very attentive to everyone’s needs and provided us a great excursion through the desert!
