We had some issues, but our outstanding driver, Badr, saved the trip! He drove me, my husband 9-year-old daughter 9 hours to the Sahara Desert from Marrakech. He stopped for breaks when we needed and for short tours and sightseeing. Our only issue was the morning we woke up. A guide at the camp told us to watch the sunrise and then eat breakfast before camels would take us back to the base. Camp was deserted by 6:30am. Sunrise was at 7. Breakfast was over. No one spoke English. We waited almost an hour for a Jeep to drive us down. Thankfully. Badr found us and took us back to the city. Still an amazing experience, but I feel we missed half of it on my husband’s birthday.
Great experience. Very professional and accommodating staff. We took a long detour on our way back as the roads to Marrakesh were closed due to do heavy snow, Himed, our driver, was very professional, calm and patient during the 12h drive!
Departure from Marrakech and immersion in the Amazigh hinterland. Arrival in front of the Sahara desert. Unique sunset experience in the dunes and at night in luxury tent was amazing. Our guide Imad was great: friendly, explained us a lot of details about the country and culture, drove like a pro in the mountains. Thanks to him and his generosity.
My wife and I had a fantastic experience with Imad, our driver. He didn’t only get us from A to B, but made sure to enchant us with stories and information about the Berber culture, stopping along the way. He was also extremely generous and always made sure we were comfortable. I strongly recommend taking this tour and getting a hands-on feel for the Moroccan way of life. Thank you, Imad!
This was an 8 hour drive from Marrakech to the Merzouga camp in the Sahara. There were adequate stops along the way for restrooms, leg stretches, refuel, snacks and drinks. We stopped at several roadside cafes, significant landmarks, and to purchase scarves, henna, traditional Moroccan clothing.
Watched the best Sunset and Sunrise ever. The camp site was well setup and the camp staff was wonderful. The private guide/driver Joseph was awesome, he was patient and was a very good driver provided the information about all the sites on the way and took personal care of all the details. Would enthusiastically recommend Joseph for anyone who wants to take a private tour.
