Itinerary
After a short funicular ride, we will reach Polyterasse, the place where the tour begins. After a short introduction to the city, you'll enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the Old Town and the Alps.
Lindenhof is an oasis at the heart of the city that offers glorious views of the Old Town, Grossmünster, City Hall, the Limmat river, the University of Zurich, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
Visit the heart of the financial disctrict, the headquarters of some of the largest Swiss Banks, and stroll along Bahnhofstrasse - an exclusive shopping avenue.
A guided walking tour can enrich your experience of an unfamiliar city and the experience is likely to feel more intimate on a small group tour. Strolling around the heart of Zurich you'll get familiarised with the highlights of this medieval town and our guide will bring a deep historical, cultural and entertaining perspective to it.
After the city tour, we are heading to Burkliplatz to take the ferry for a 90 minutes cruise on Lake Zurich. You'll pass nearby Lindt Chocolate Factory and you will admire one of the most expensive areas along the "Golden Coast", where celebrities as Tina Turner are living.
Its most stunning treasures are the stained glass windows: those in the north transept are by Augusto Giacometti and the five-part cycle in the chancel and rosette in the southern transept the works of Marc Chagall.

My husband was in Zurich for business and I tagged along this trip. I was here for one day and wanted to get a feel of Zurich. This excursion definitely fit the bill! Our guide was Greg and he was very knowledgeable and sprinkled his facts with humor. You see Zurich from many different vantage points. By way of the streets, the water and a mountain. It is a walking tour so wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle if you are doing this in the summer. I can’t recommend this enough!
I cannot speak to the quality of the tours, but it is hard to imagine worse customer service. In response to an issue I raised (see below), WOW Zurich Tours (David Orelli), literally told me in one message that I was stupid and later sent a message dripping with sarcasm. The issue? I asked Viator (the company used to book the tour) for a refund because the meeting location it listed for me and the one it listed for the tour operator were different, causing us to miss each other. The booking confirmation, reminder email, and in-app “How to Get There” tab all noted meeting at location A. Unfortunately, the tour guide was at location B, which was where the Viator app told him he should be. (I know this because the tour guide sent me a screenshot.) In other words, this was not the tour operator’s fault; it was the result of some sort of disconnect in Viator’s system. Nevertheless, Viator did not want to accept responsibility so it asked WOW Zurich Tours to issue a refund. That resulted in WOW Zurich Tours messaging me about my supposed stupidity. I would like to believe that David is just having a bad day, but if his behavior is representative of WOW Zurich Tours’ treatment of customers, beware.
A disconnect between the information Viator provided to me and the information it provided to the tour operator resulted in both thinking different places were the meeting location. The tour operator says it is not responsible and I have not received a refund. I sent a screenshot of the meeting location visible to me in the Viator app and a photo at the location at the appointed time. The tour operator showed me a screenshot with my name and a completely different meeting location. How does that even happen? I was disappointed to miss the tour despite arriving early. Viator has been good in the past, but this mess up makes me wonder whether I can trust Viator next time.
This was an awesome tour to take if you only have time for one while in Zurich. Vanessa was an outstanding guide and I learned a ton through the whole day!!
We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was very informative and we learnt a lot. Wasn’t overbearing with dates etc, just interesting facts about Zürich and Switzerland, while walking around town. Ferry ride was a great way to finish. Definitely a must do.
Great experience and got to see Zürich all in one day! Great tour guide and simple process to book it.
Loved the small group and not having to use headphones. Our tour guide was wonderful. He added a lot of humour which we thoroughly enjoyed. He answered any questions that we asked. Good mix with walking and than the river cruise
We had an enjoyable and amazing tour with a witty, knowledgeable, and informative guide. We would highly recommend the tour!
