Zion Narrows: Private Guided Hike + Picnic (Gear Included)

I had always wanted to hike the Narrows but because we live in NC, getting to UT and Zion was not something we could easily do. But, when my family started to plan our National Parks trip to AZ and UT, I knew I had to figure out the best way to experience this hike - and DJ with Cedar and Sage did not disappoint! In fact, this tour was our family’s favorite of the entire trip!! From the moment we met DJ, I knew it was going to be fun, entertaining and informative. First, he fitted us with perfectly fitting shoes, even going back to the van to refit my husband after half way to the buses bc his boots were already starting to rub blisters. DJ was kind and accommodating! Second, he got us into the Narrows before the huge crowd rush and hiking so we could enjoy some peace. Coming back it was way more crowded so I’m so glad he had us up and moving early! Third, he was so fun and told us about cool rock carvings and formations during our hike. He took great pictures and led the way thru uneven, wet, slick rocks so we would know how to hike. He was personable and so easy to talk to! And, he included my 14 year old son, which is not something every tour guide chooses to do. Do yourself a favor and book with this company! First class service all the way!

Mike was the best tour guide ever!!! He was so funny, nice, and considerate. He never rushed us. He was so informative about the narrows and other parks we were going to. Fun to talk with. Great charcuterie board. Loved the Spanish cheese!!!

Such a beautiful place! It isn’t easy walking through the river because of the rocks under the water you can’t see, but the views are very rewarding. Moises was very knowledgeable, took a lot of pictures for us and our family. He was great with our kids and was super personable. Food was delicious!

We had an amazing day with Dayna. She got us all set up with gear before we entered the Narrows, helped us with navigating the terrain, humored my sons when they wanted to shepherd a wayward log back down the river when we turned around, she got so many incredible pictures of us, and expertly guided us out of the river when a pop up storm hit. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Cedar and Sage, but also Dayna who is available on Wednesdays! Thank you!

SIMPLY AMAZING!!! From the beginning until the end. Our guide Moises made us feel comfortable and quieted any reservations that we had about our jaunt through the Narrows. We were provided with canyoneering boots and neoprene socks and hiking poles( not required ), but having them made a huge difference. Moises encouraged us every step of the way all while explaining every detail about the Narrows. Moises told us to take our trip at our own pace, which made us enjoy our tour that much more enjoyable. Our experience hiking The Narrows with Moises was hands down one of the highlights of our Utah trip! From the very beginning, he made the entire experience feel special. He shared so much history about Zion National Park, which gave us such a deeper appreciation for where we were. He also came fully prepared with everything we needed, from hiking sticks to waterproof boots and socks, which made such a huge difference navigating The Narrows comfortably. But what truly made this tour unforgettable was Moises himself. He’s incredibly genuine, easy to talk to, and the kind of person you instantly feel comfortable around. You can tell this isn’t just a job for him. It’s something he’s truly passionate about, and that passion shines through every part of the experience. To top it all off, the beautiful charcuterie board we chose to do at the end of the hike was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect way to sit down, relax, and connect after an incredible adventure. Wonderful experience. Michael was very good with communication and directions. We had such a fun day and are very happy that we chose to have a personal guide. The area can be a little difficult for newbies if you do not know what you are doing/going and do not have the proper gear. Michael made sure that we had good instructions and gave us history and information throughout the journey. We highly recommend!

This was our first hike in the Narrows. Michael from Cedar and Sage is an informed, thoughtful, and warm guide. He taught us about the geology and history of the canyon. He provided canyon shoes and neoprene socks, a waterproof backpack, and hiking sticks. We had a delightful day in the Narrows. We started a little early which helped avoid too many crowds. He brought a delicious charcuterie lunch which we enjoyed!

We cannot recommend this tour enough. Fantastic, amazing, hilarious, educational. We went on our anniversary and had a great time. Moises was our guide. And yes, Michael, we think you are a lucky person. Moises was extremely helpful from beginning to spectacular end. We talked about the history of Zion but also connected personally on a range of topics. Great recommendations of things to do in town as well.

Moises was the BEST guide ever!! My mom and I were on a trip to Utah together and this tour was definitely the highlight. Moises was so accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable! We had everything we needed and more. The charcuterie board was a HUGE plus! It was a great way to refuel on the way back. I can’t recommend this enough for those who want to do the narrows but are nervous about where to start. It was extremely helpful to have someone guide us through!
