It is a famous tourism destination in Hunan province which was officially recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1992. The pillar-like formation seen through the park are the result of many years of erosion. With over 90% forest coverage, the scenic area comprises Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Jinbian Stream and Wulongzhai. The minority culture and folklores are represented in nearby villages and towns, inhabited by Tujia, Bai, Miao and Hui people, making worthwhile side trips.
It is the highest and fastest sightseeing elevator in the world and provides a spectacular view of the sandstone peak forest. It has a height of 326 meters and can carry 3,000 people an hour in the three transparent elevators. It only takes 88 seconds to travel to the top of the mountain.
Yuanjiajie is in the northern corner of Zhangjiajie National Park. This area, characterized by towering sandstone pillars formed over millions of years of erosion, is famous and popular for its Hallelujah mountain, named after Avatar's floating rocks. The most popular attractions are: Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, First Bridge Under Heaven and so on.
It is known for 4 natural spectacles--the clouds of mist that circle the peaks of the mountain, the amazing views of the rising sun, the moonlit nights and snowcapped winter peaks. They include more than 80 natural platforms to take in the magnificent scenery. Take the cable to Tianzi mountain to enjoy the views upway and relax.
The world's longest & highest glass bridge is also located in this scenic area. Walking on the glass bottom bridge that is 300 meters above the ground will be the coolest experience of your tour!

Of course it’s perfect nature , nothing to tell - everything is beautiful, but Viator please before you making the trip and asking for price check your tour guy , even local , it’s should be on specific level , the tour guide was not professional, limited English . I am not sure she has any qualifications ( diploma or certificate)

The tour guide we provided was a certified professional guide specializing in the scenery of Zhangjiajie. However, she did not introduce the cultural aspects as you had expected. Since the main focus of a Zhangjiajie trip is sightseeing and geographical aspects, we primarily introduce the scenic parts, which is also their area of expertise. We also showed you the tour guide's legitimate credentials. She is a local girl from Zhangjiajie, Hunan, and although she looks very young, but she is not a college student and she has been working for several years. Hope you all the best.
Amazing. Totally worth it. Glass bridge is very nice as so the walking towards the park, but definitely the highlights are the avatar and tianzi mountains! Incredible views! Really recommend it! Difficult to imagine doing everything by ourselves and be able to navigate the different parks/shuttles without a guide. The transfers/picks-ups are also very convenient.
