We took a 1/2 day guided tour of Xiamen & Gulang Yu island and were fortunate to have a very experienced and knowledgeable guide Evelyn. Despite the heat & crowds Evelyn maximised our time and made it effortless for us. She is a fantastic guide and we highly recommend Evelyn.
Going to Gulang Yu Island isn't meant to be complicated. But then not until I met with the tour guide arranged by Sunny Tours, I didn't know as visitors we are supposed to use the visitors' ferry service, in which the ferry pier is nowhere close to the one for locals. We would have to go extra miles to get to the correct pier. Only for this using Sunny Tours' servics made it worthwhile already. The tour guide was a very charming nice lady whom speaks good English and know the island inside and out. Not only did she not pushing us to buy things, she dissected which is worthwhile and what isn't. This attitude doesn't discourage us from buying things, but actually enhance the shopping experience. Time management is good with great flexibility. We weren't pushed and rushed from point to point. Whatever we would like to explored, the agency tried to compromised with almost instant response. If you are looking for a hassle-free day tour, this is a professional service I would recommend.
The guide was very kind and patient with us. Her pronunciation was very simple and we didn't have any problems. Helped us shop in the best stores
We had such a great experience on our tour with Viator of Galungyu Island. The communication up front was fast and clear, and our tour guide - Cathy - was amazing. She navigated the city and transportation so well and was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we could possibly hope to learn. She took us exactly where we wanted to go and gave great recommendations for a tea tasting and ice cream stop as well. We had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone to have Cathy as a tour guide!
Evelyn was punctual to pick me up. She was very knowledgeable about Xiamen and Gulang Yu Island. Had a great time walking around the island, taking scenic photos, shopping, going to the piano museum and the gardens. She was flexible and catered to the things I was interested in.
We had a last minute change of plans and really wanted to visit the beautiful “Piano Island”. Sunny Travel was great - they were prompt in their response and had everything lined up in short order. Our tour guide was Lilly - I can only hope you get her as your guide! She was so considerate and made us feel that we had a new friend! She met us and had a car waiting for us. Lilly was on target with our tour and was very patient as my husband and I needed to rest periodically (just not as young any more). She guided us to some of the most beautiful places of “Piano Island.” It was a trip we will cherish forever - thanks to our wonderful guide Lilly!
Great tour experience! Cathy was really helpful and professional and was very informative in explaining the history of the places that we went. Coordination and logistics by Sunny Tours was good too. Highly recommend!
The guide Lily did an amazing job. Everything went very smooth and the food selection was good. The Island is worth visiting
Our connecting flight got canceled so decided to take a tour. Saya was our guide and she was excellent. Was a little leary since we seem to be the only foreigners in a very crowded destination full of kids. Kids on summer break. But Saya made us comfortable and also fun. Thank you Saya!
Really great experience, guide was friendly and very educational. Island and garden were beautiful and it was very helpful to have a guide take care of the logistics. One note, the website allows you to select tours starting later in the day but I was encouraged to start the tour in the early afternoon (14.00) as the garden closes at 18.00. Fortunately everything worked out for my visit (we left my hotel at 15.00) and I felt like I had enough time but may not be sufficient for everyone if you start the tour later. Also note that there is a lot of walking on this tour.
