Itinerary
We will depart from your hotel and visit the Shaanxi History Museum, which has two venues: the Main Museum on Xiaozhai East Road, Xi’an, and the Qin‑Han Museum in Xixian New Area, China’s only museum dedicated to Qin‑Han civilization. Designed by architect Zhang Jinqiu, its seven buildings are arranged like the Big Dipper and connected by corridors, showcasing Qin‑Han architectural style. The core exhibition *Unity of the World* occupies two floors and displays 732 relics, covering centralized governance, economic policies, the rise of Confucianism, script unification, Han papermaking, and Silk Road exchanges. Highlights include the 9.71m‑long *Silk Road No.1* ship—the earliest known wooden vessel in China with craftsmanship linked to Roman techniques—and the Qin Du Hu Tally, a two‑part military credential. There are more treasures to explore. Enjoy your journey into Qin‑Han civilization!
Xi'an Xiaoyanta Museum is where history and culture converge. Also known as Jianfu Temple Pagoda, it was built between 707 and 709 AD during the Tang Dynasty. As a landmark of ancient Chang’an, it stands facing the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. The 43.3‑meter brick pagoda originally had 15 stories. It has a square base (11.38 meters per side) and tapers gracefully upward. Exquisite Tang‑dynasty carvings of celestial beings decorate its door lintels. The museum houses more than 43 stone steles from the Tang and Song dynasties, including the precious Attendant Bodhisattva inscription. Twenty steles record military examination candidates from the Ming and Qing dynasties, providing valuable materials for historical research. Come and experience the charm of the Tang Dynasty and profound traditional culture here. Enjoy your visit! After the visit, the tour guide and driver will take you back to your hotel, concluding the tour.

Lynn was a top notch excellent guide! It would be a joy to have her guide me again. She spoke perfect English and explained the history and significance of items in the museums at a very pleasant pace. A separate driver was provided. They kindly picked me up at the airport for an extra fee. I arrived at 1230PM and did the HanLin museum then the Shaanxi museum before being dropped off at my hotel. As a female solo traveling I felt safe. Worthwhile experience!
I had a great tour with Dodo of the Shaanxi history museum. The tour was very convenient; they contacted me via email to confirm the tour and obtain my information to purchase tickets in advance. The ticketing system here is more complex than usual due to the covid virus restrictions, so I doubt that I would have been able to manage this myself. Dodo was very knowledgeable about Chinese history and I would not have had as great an experience without a knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend this tour once everyone is able to travel again.
We had the most wonderful guide and a careful driver. Pick up was on time, we went to Small Wild Goose Pagoda park to see the puppet show. It was short, but perfectly done. The shadow puppets showed more color through the white screen and the story we saw was cute and universal. Then over to a modern museum with Jade display and Buddha's. The Shaanxi historical Museum had already issued all the tickets they would allow each day, so our alternative was to visit the East Old City Wall, some of it 2000 years old, and walk along the top. Quite an experience. Perfect day in beautiful Xi'an.
