Itinerary
Meet your guide In front of the Britannique Hotel - Paris Centre, 20 Av. Victoria, 75001 Paris, France. Please do not enter the hotel, it is only a meeting point
Your journey begins at Fontaine du Châtelet and Saint Jacques Tower, where you’ll hear how earlier conflicts like the Napoleonic Wars and the French Revolution set the stage for future events.
Strolling through the picturesque streets of the Old Town, you’ll see the historic Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) and cross into the Île de la Cité, a place where the echoes of the past resonate deeply. At the Deportation Martyrs Memorial, reflect on the 200,000 lives deported to Nazi concentration camps.
Your guide will also point out how the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, though partially damaged during the liberation in 1944, still stands as a symbol of endurance. Nearby, learn about the Conciergerie, once a royal palace and revolutionary prison, and the Sainte-Chapelle, where invaluable art and treasures were safely relocated during air raids. This thoughtfully crafted tour highlights how Paris, despite wartime chaos, safeguarded its cultural legacy.
Enrich your experience with a visit to Les Invalides, home to the Army Museum. With skip-the-line tickets and convenient public transport provided, you’ll dive deeper into France’s military history. Inside, explore extensive collections of weapons, military uniforms, and personal artifacts from war heroes. Stand before Napoleon Bonaparte’s tomb, famously visited by Adolf Hitler, and let your Expert Guide’s insights bring these powerful stories to life. Don’t miss this chance to connect with Paris’s wartime past in a personal and meaningful way.

DO NOT book this tour! It is a rip off! We paid for the full 4 hour tour including public transport to Les Invalieds Museum. Firstly: the guide did not show up to the supplier stipulated meeting point. Secondly, the guide rang us and blamed us for the meeting point and demanded we catch a cab to Les Invalides Museum, which we did (costing more money for something we had already paid for). Even after we arrived the guide kept demanding to know why we chose that meeting point. I tried to explain to him that it was simply the place where we were told to meet him. He kept insisting that the stipulated meeting point must be our hotel (it wasn't). We had to catch a car to the meeting point. If they had wanted us to meet at Les Invalides, then it would have been much easier and cheaper for us to go there directly. Thirdly: The option we chose included a WWII tour of the "Old Town" - that never happened. Fourtly: Our guide kept saying he didn't know why we would want to do that anyway, because the sites were so far apart. As I was using a walking cane he also told me that I would never have made it anyway (I wonder where he acquired his medical degree to make such an assessment). Fifthly: the tour was supposed to take 4 hours. Our guide left after three. We paid over AUD$1,200 for this tour. What a total waste of money!
