Wine tour Korčula - private tour

Description
Our excursion starts at the view point of Korčula, where you can take a couple of photos. The first vinyards we are going to visit are situated in Lumbarda and are famous for Grk, an autochtonous wine sort.. It is not known whether the name derives from the bitter taste or the old Greeks who settled Lumbarda in the fourth and the third century before Christ bringing their own wine sort. You will have the opportunity to taste Grk at a local winery. Then we drive through the interior of the island, passing the villages of Žrnovo and Pupnat, Pupnatska Luka, one of the most beautiful bays on the island. We continue our trip towards Čara and Smokvica, where you will be able to see vineyards. After the tour through the fields you will get the chance to try Pošip and other wines at two most prominent wineries. On our way to Korčula we will drive along the north-west coast of the island passing a couple of fantastic view points which make an additional proof of how beautiful the island is.

We visited two small family wineries in a private, air conditioned van with a friendly guide (Zarko) who stopped at scenic vistas and described the history, unique wines, and winemaking of the region. We tasted five Posip wines at the first stop (Toreta) paired with an excellent charcuterie board. At the second stop in the Lumbarda region we tasted three Grk wines at Sabulum - another small, family winery. We loved the free range, cork chewing German Shepherd that roamed the tasting area.
Thank you
Our tour was excellent! We were picked up in the city center and our driver made multiple stops to show us the most picturesque sights and to explain the history of Korcula along the way. My husband and I travelled with our daughter, son in law and our 4 year old grand daughter and he took such beautiful pictures of us with the backdrop of Korcula Old town and otherlocations to capture wonderful memories. The van was very comfortable and the baby seat was already installed and ready to go. Since we travelled in early April so most wineries were not open for the season yet, so the tour company made special arrangements for us to taste wines at a beautiful family owned winery, Tasovac, that has been in business for multiple generations and then and the Black Island Winery, which is a much larger business. Both were fantastic, and we had the best, private tastings of beautiful wines and were hosted by such nice and friendly people. Tasovac Winery was just beautifully quaint and it felt like such a relaxing experience, and we enjoyed all of the wines we were served. The Black Island Winery also had delicious wines and it even had a kid play table for our grand daughter to play with. It was also so nice to see many different parts of the island, all of which were beautiful, but different from the other towns. We returned home raving about how nice the people and the tour were, how delicious the wines were, and how beautiful the island is. Our driver provided so much history and we had nice conversations about the larger Croatian culture and about current life on the island. We recommend this tour 100%.
Thank you
It was a wonderful tour of the two wine areas of the island. The attention of our driver and guide, provided a unique experience at each vineyard. We were introduced to the vintners and were able to sample a number of their products. This was the best winery tour in Korcula.
Thank you
We loved our tour. We were picked up in a lovely air con minibus. Our guide was so friendly, gave us lots of interesting information regarding Korcula and the wine and nothing was too much trouble. We visited 2 wineries, both family run. Sampled 5 wines in the first along with a charcuterie board and 3 wines in the second. the hosts at both wineries were excellent ,very attentive and we were provided with lots of information on the wines we tasted. We also got to see some of the island which was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and cannot recommend it enough.
Thank you
Nice to explore the island and see countryside. We went to 2 wineries. We were little disappointed in the first one. It was a tasting room not what we expected. Second winery was beautiful and much nicer.
Thank you
My wife and I had a tremendous day with our guide who was very friendly and had a good knowledge of wine and Korcula. The two wineries we visited were family-owned, beautiful, and of course had amazing wine. We enjoyed how we experienced both regions of Morcula (Pošip and Grk) and the fact that we learned the wine from the wineries and the history / local insight of Korcula from the guide.
Thank you
This was a fantastic trip to 2 wineries, sampling 3-5 wines in each. The guide was amazing, he was very friendly and knowledgeable, and was ready to provide more interesting information if we asked him but was also happy to sit back and let the wines and the views do the talking. I can't recommend it enough
Thank you
Perfect overview of Croatian wines made on Korcula and a tour of an island. Visited very nice wineries
Thank you
Our guide gave us lots of good information about how locals make their wine and other great facts about Korcula. The wineries we went to had excellent wines all around and very yummy charcuterie. Great views all around as well!
Thank you
Great experience of seeing more of this beautiful island with a very knowledgeable guide. We stopped several places to learn more about Korcula and for photos (our guide took great pics). We went to 2 wineries, both in beautiful settings with amazing wineries. The owners of both served us and explained each wine. We had a lovely charcuterie tray at the first. We really enjoyed this tour!
Thank you
