Uncover paths of the underground corridors during our half-day, 4- hour trip from Krakow where it all begins. After 30 - 40 minutes drive you will get to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and join English guide. The guide will bring you closer to the history of the place and will show you the most important places in the underground world. Guided tour in Wieliczka Salt Mine usually takes around 2 - 2.5 hrs. During the tour you will be able to visit St Kinga’s Chapel - 54 m long and almost 12 m high chapel resembles interiors of medieval wooden churches and is a real underground wonder with breathtaking chandeliers made of salt crystals, underground corridors and landscapes that cannot be seen on the surface saline lakes and beautiful underground chambers. On a standard touristic route visitor have to walk around 800 stairs - 400 at the entrance. After the tour our driver will drive you back to Krakow.

Our tour starts with transportation from Krakow, either from your specified hotel or a meeting point of your choice. Salt Mine is located in Wieliczka, approximately 40 minutes away (20 km). All of our drivers hold the necessary EU certifications for passenger transport. A friendly, English-speaking group leader will be available to assist you whenever needed. On-site you'll be introduced to a professional local guide, licensed by the Salt Mine. Visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of Poland’s top attractions that's on UNESCO's World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The half-day skip-the-line tour departs from Krakow. Learn about the salt mine that is the best-preserved site of its type in the world. Opened in the 13th century, it has been in continuous operation since that time. Explore some of the 300 kilometers of hallways extending over 9 levels and reaching depths of 327 meters. See the chambers and chapels in the mine's underground city, including the famous St. Kinga Chapel, visited each year by more than a million tourists from all over the world.
At the end of the tour, you won’t be rushed. You’ll have at least a 15-minute break to visit a bookstore, or simply rest. After another 40 minutes of travel, you will be taken to Krakow.

- A moderate amount of walking is involved. The route includes around 800 steps in total — you descend via stairs, while the return to the surface is by lift.
- Not recommended for participants who become easily claustrophobic. There are some very narrow paths inside the salt mine and this may be difficult for some.
- Hand luggage should be of a reasonable size, and larger luggage should be left in the car.
- There is no minimum age to experience the activity, however, children should be capable of walking unassisted or be carried in baby slings or baby carriers. Baby strollers are not allowed underground.
- Temperatures in Wieliczka Salt Mine are around 15ºC or 59ºF, it is recommended that you bring a jacket

Excellent day out, our driver picked us up from the hotel and stayed with us until we joined a larger group to enter the mine, There was a lot of steps before we reached the bottom and a lot of walking around the mine but it was well worth it. A lot of fascinating details in the mine with a very informative tour guide. A lift took you back to the top which held 8 people but very tight I know how sardines feel now. On returning to our minibus where our driver had been waiting patiently for us returning us to our hotel. We had booked with Krakow direct in 2019 and had paid for the trips but due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to go. With COVID and the Ukraine war we eventually got booked for this year. After contacting Krakow direct they honour what we had paid plus charge us a little bit extra for inflation. We were very grateful for this and we will use them again on our next visit.

It was a wonderful trip. Your guide was taking care of us during the whole trip and translated if necessary. He was always with us and I felt very safe. The guides of he saltmine spoke little English. The audioguide worked perfectly. And everything was in general well organized. I recommend the trip. It is a lot of walking, stairs and some longer up and downs. But manageable with a basic level of fitness.

The service was really good, the driver that picked us up, super friendly, on time, really nice. The guide in the mine really interesting, he spoke spanish perfectly, really good. The mine is ok, it has a couple of very nice places (the cathedral and a cave) but that's it, i don't know if i would go back again.

Overall, the tour was okay. The driver picked us up on time, which was appreciated. However, although this was advertised as a group tour, we were simply placed in line with another individual visitors, so there was no dedicated guide accompanying our group only. Unfortunately, we were not lucky with the guide we were assigned. Her English was difficult to understand, and the tour felt rushed from one point to the next, leaving little time to fully appreciate the sites. I can say I learned more from ChatGPT other than from professional guide during the tour. The salt mine itself is absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth visiting. I just hope everyone is lucky enough to get a knowledgeable, professional guide, as that can make a big difference in the overall experience.
The organization of the tour with pick up/ drop off, getting tickets, experiencing the mine was good. Kudos to the young man who was our guide at the mine. He was a local and shared stories of going to the mine as a young boy. The area has so much history and the mine tour was an enjoyable and different type of history to learn and experience. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend to those visiting the Krakow area. Our only issue was with the company changing our start time from 8:20 to 7:05. We had purchased a prepaid breakfast at our hotel which was non refundable. Due to the company moving our start time over an hour earlier, we were unable to have the breakfast and lost $50USD - that was very frustrating. We received notice of the change in time the afternoon before our departure. Other than this frustration, the experience was good.
