1944 was a terrifying year for Warsaw. With its magnificent historical tenements, state-of-the-art sewage system, rapid growth, style and courtesy, this beautiful city, a real social, architectural and religious melting pot used to be called „The Pearl of the North”. This marvelous city was demolished almost to the last building and the last brick. A generation of people who were not even 20, the future of the country, perished. What was it that pushed Poles to rise? Was not the price for potential freedom won in battle too high? The Warsaw Rising Museum is not a typical museum. It is more of a time machine that takes its visitors back to 1944. The days preceding the rising, its consecutive phases and eventual failure are presented with the use of images and sounds. The visitors can see over 1000 authentic exhibits and 1500 photographs and movies. Additionally, the guests can watch a 5 minutes long 3D simulation of a flight over demolished and desolate Warsaw.

Admission included75 min

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is a museum located in Warsaw documenting the centuries-old history of Jews in Poland. The museum fantastically describes the contribution of Jews to the development of Polish culture, economy, and science. In the virtual library, you can see masterpieces of Hebrew and Yiddish literature in a multimedia form: Talmud, religious, philosophical and moral works. Anyone can also print the title page from the 16th-century book on the press, and this is only a small part of the adventure with Jewish culture as it is in the Museum. Multimedia exhibitions await visitors, showing how Poles and Jews lived together for many hundreds of years and how both cultures merged together. In the conventional space you can get acquainted with the family and neighborly relations, look at the Jewish-Christian relationship. It is a huge part of the human history of this city. A place definitely worth seeing.

Informative, Important and Educational

We learned a lot in our time at the museums. Polin was beautiful and expansive and very educational. Warsaw Uprising is so well done and engaging, and definitely evoked emotion. Our guide was friendly and engaging, and I really enjoyed listening to personal stories and connections to Poland, Warsaw and the events.

Not a guided tour of Museums

This is not a guided tour, it is basically a ride, with very nice person who assists you to the ticket process and get you on your way. Does point out some points of interest as you drive.

Great museum with a lot of interactive exhibitions

The museum has 3 stories with detailed information about the Warsaw uprising. There are a lot of interactive exhibitions and real life exhibits plus story telling which make the whole experience very moving. I recommend to rent an audio guide from the bookstore. Highly recommended if you want to know about that part of history of Warsaw.

Hire a taxi and don’t take the tour

The tour coordinator was like a taxi driver. Save a lot of money by hiring a taxi everywhere and paying for the museum tickets by yourself and getting an audio guide. Disappointed with Viator!!

Great.

Beautiful museum, immersive, rich in information accessible to all. The scenery and the films really capture the atmosphere and the stakes of the 1944 Uprising that ends badly for the Polish city.

Excellent self tour

You must hire the commentary pack they have It’s available in the small shop as you go in and very easy to use. Putting a corresponding number into machine as indicated on each exhibition. Comfy pair of shoes but there are seats for older weary public. Free entry on Sundays but therefore will be much busier for small screen showings. Many original articles from the uprising. If you like the history or have had family members from this time it’s invaluable.
