Inspiring enterprise in Arusha

A fabulous initiative which strives to engage people with varying abilities to produce truly exceptional products from recycled materials. The guide and artisans were extremely engaging and friendly. We would highly recommend a visit to this inspiring business.

Take the Free Tour and Support These People

Take the Free Tour and Support These People. We really enjoyed our guided, free tour of Shanga, going through the different rooms and meeting many able people with disabilities - some people were in wheelchairs, some had hearing disabilites, some people were developmentally delayed, and all of them were employed, capable, and creating art, whether glassblowing, weaving, creating bead jewelry, or stapling together the shopping bags out of recycled newspapers. This was an uplifting, positive experience, well worth an hour of our time, and I am so glad we went here.

Great work - worth a visit.

I was ambivalent at the start of my visit to the Shenga workshop but once the your started I was enthralled with their program and the quality of the goods they make. Our group brought hand blown glass products and woven goods as well as jewelry. I highly recommend a visit to the workshop. Their mission is worthy of our support and the goods they produce provide an opportunity to support their work as well as obtain beautiful souvenirs of your visit to Tanzania.
