fun experience, the slide is really good
Excellent viewpoint. The slide was fun!!
The donaupark is beautiful, very nice walk. It is very worth climbing the tower donauturm, the view is amazing. In addition to the view that by itself is already worth the visit, the café located at the top of the tower is excellent, the system is rotating, allowing 360 panoramic view.
I visit the tower annually - a testament to how much I like it up there. This time, I did the slide and it was the best 17 secs ever!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are truly delighted that you visit the Danube Tower every year and that you enjoyed your time with us again. It is especially great to hear that you tried the Danube Tower slide this time and had such a fantastic experience. We look forward to welcoming you back again on your next annual visit — perhaps with another slide ride included!
The Danube Tower is the highest monument in Vienna and the city can be seen from above, from an observation platform that can be accessed by lift.
Thanks for your visit and feedback.
A trip to Danube Tower is worth the visit to see amazing views. The views from the top are amazing to see beautiful Vienna. There's a lovely cafe where you can sit and view and have lunch and drinks. Very slow steady speed, the tower rotates around to get the best views in different angles. You have a slide, which is fun and enjoyable for all ages to use. Enjoyable and definitely worth the visit when in Vienna.
Thanks for your visit and feedback.
The terrace is very pretty, as is the cafe which is just below the terrace. However it is very expensive as an experience: about 60 euros just to go up for a family of 4. 30 euros for a drink and at the bar and 6 euros per person for the outdoor slide. Definitely exaggerated.
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about the terrace and the café — we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the setting. We understand your concerns regarding the overall cost of the experience. The admission ticket includes the panoramic lift ride and access to the viewing platforms, while food, drinks, and attractions such as the slide are optional and can be chosen individually. Prices are set to reflect the maintenance, safety standards, and unique experience offered at the Donauturm. We appreciate your honest comments, as they help us better understand our guests’ expectations, and we hope you were still able to enjoy the special views and atmosphere during your visit.
The panoramic view over Vienna is absolutely magical, and the Danube looks especially impressive from above. The slide is a must-try experience — fun and a bit thrilling. If you can, reserve a table at the café or restaurant; even enjoying just a coffee up there makes the visit feel special. A memorable stop in the city.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you found the panoramic view over Vienna magical and that the Danube made such a strong impression from above. We’re especially happy you enjoyed the slide — it’s great to hear you found it both fun and thrilling. Your tip about reserving a table at the café or restaurant is much appreciated; enjoying even a simple coffee with that view truly does make the experience special. Thank you for visiting and for sharing your experience. We hope to welcome you back again soon for another memorable moment above the city.
Staff were very kind and informative. Great viewpoint, and nice cocktails. VERY overpriced though. It was €18 just for entry to the view point, then extra for food/drinks, and for the slide (€5). It’s not very central either so you need to get the train, and walk 15/20 mins.
Thank you for your review and for your kind words about our staff, the viewpoint, and the cocktails — we’re very pleased to hear you enjoyed those aspects of your visit. Regarding pricing: the admission ticket covers the panoramic lift ride and access to the viewing platforms, offering a unique 360° view over Vienna. Food, drinks, and attractions such as the slide are optional extras and are clearly communicated in advance, allowing guests to choose how they would like to experience the tower. Concerning accessibility: while the Donauturm is not located in the historic city center, it is very well connected by public transport. You can reach it by taking the U1 to VIC/Kaisermühlen, Alte Donau, or the U6 to Neue Donau, and then continue with bus line 20A directly to the “Donauturm” stop. Alternatively, the Donauturm is also easily accessible by sightseeing buses. The Vienna Sightseeing HOP ON HOP OFF Bus (Blue Line) and the Big Bus Vienna (Red Line) both stop directly at the Donauturm. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope to welcome you again in the future.
It’s sad to see the degradation of Austrian culture. I visited the Donauturm 35, 30 and 20 years ago – each time with my dog. I’ve just learned that for the past ten years, “dogs have been banned on the Donauturm.” No doubt, thanks to the "new influencers” who are devouring what’s left of Viennese culture. Long ago, Croats protected you from them in Sisak – this time, you’ve let yourselves be culturally conquered. If you keep going this way, dear Wien, soon the famous grilled Stelze will be made of pigeon instead of pork, because it might “offend” someone’s quasi-culture. By the way – this is pure robbery. They sell you an entrance ticket for about 40 euros, even though upstairs in the café they tell you it’s closed, the slide is closed, the shop is closed – but the parking still has to be paid for. Better to throw your money into the Danube over your right shoulder and make a wish.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret to hear that your recent experience did not meet your expectations and that you were disappointed by some of the changes at the Donauturm. Regarding dogs: the policy of not allowing dogs has been in place for several years and was introduced for safety, hygiene, and consideration of all guests. We understand that this may be disappointing, especially if you were able to visit with your dog in the past; however, this decision was made carefully and is unrelated to trends or “influencers.” Concerning pricing and availability: the entrance ticket primarily covers access to the tower, the panoramic lift ride, and the viewing platforms, offering unique views over Vienna. Please note that all opening hours and any temporary closures of facilities such as the café, slide, or shop are clearly and transparently communicated on our website. A quick look in advance could have helped avoid disappointment during your visit and, unfortunately, this negative review. Parking fees are set independently of tower admission and apply regardless of which facilities are open. We genuinely value long-time visitors and their connection to Vienna and Austrian culture. While cities and attractions inevitably evolve over time, our aim remains to preserve the character of the Donauturm while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. Thank you again for your candid comments. They help us improve both our communication and the overall visitor experience.
