Itinerary
You will be transported back to the Golden Age of France with a trip to the Palace of Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and emblem of French royalty and extravagance. You will be guaranteed fast-track entry, allowing you to jump the queue and travel in comfort on one of our fully air-conditioned coaches. You will marvel at the breathtaking royal chateau, transformed by the ‘Sun King’ Louis XIV in the 1660s from a hunting lodge. Playground of the French monarchs, Versailles was the center of royal and political power until the French Revolution in 1789 which saw Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette forced to return to the capital.
Your audio guide will enable you to discover the State apartments of the King and Queen & the Royal Chapel among others.
Discover the Hall of Mirrors, the epitome of French opulence: three hundred and fifty-seven mirrors line the gold-adorned hall and crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling.
You will also be given time to explore the manicured gardens "à la française", which mirrors the splendor of the interior. Designed by the French landscaper André Le Nôtre in 1661 for the King Louis XIV, the 2,000-acre park is an architectural expanse of perspectives, parterres, fountains and groves that since its inception has defined what a French garden should be.

My experience was not good. The bus we took to Versaille didn’t have working AC so everyone was hot and miserable the entire 45 minute ride there and back. I brought it to the guides attention and he and the driver said there was nothing that could be done. After arriving back at the tourist office I alerted the attendants at the office there and they seemed to not care. Said they would let their manager know.
Lots of history to see at Versailles. The Palace is immense and filled with many artifacts. Our guide was well versed on our tour and made sure we saw all the highlights despite the palace being over crowded and terribly hot. The gardens are lovely. Be sure and take them in. Best if you go when the temperature is more reasonable. It was too hot the day we went and there’s very little AC inside.
Hello, Thank you very much for your detailed review! We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed discovering the history and highlights of the Palace of Versailles, and that your guide helped you make the most of your visit despite the crowds. It’s also great to know that you appreciated the beauty of the gardens, they truly are a highlight of the experience. We’re sorry that the weather conditions made the visit less comfortable on the day you went. As you mentioned, parts of the Palace have limited air conditioning, and we understand that this can be challenging during very hot days. We appreciate your helpful advice for future visitors and hope to welcome you again under more comfortable conditions for another great experience from Paris. Kind regards, The Paris TRIP Team
Sebastian was a wonderful tour guide. He got us there and back safely while telling us all about Versailles and what life was like back then. It was very hot—so if you go in the spring/summer wear a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bring a portable electric fan. That was a lifesaver. While everyone was sweating I had a handheld fan to aim at my face. I also brought a battery pack to recharge my phone. As it can be a long day of taking pics/videos which could zap your battery. You can also bring a bag in with drinks and snacks. Nothing better than having an impromptu picnic in the garden.
Hello, Thank you very much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great afternoon exploring Versailles with Sebastien, and that he helped make the journey both safe and informative. We really appreciate your helpful tips for future visitors as well. Visiting during warmer months can indeed be quite intense, so your advice about staying prepared is very valuable. It’s also lovely to hear that you enjoyed taking time in the gardens and even having a little picnic experience there. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again soon for another great experience from Paris. Kind regards, The Paris TRIP Team
We had a wonderful time traveling to Versailles! It was the perfect morning excursion that had us back in Paris by 1pm, leaving plenty of time for additional activities that day. Skipping the line that went from the palace all the way to the gates and going with a group was a must to avoid the crowds that were there early. Sebastian did a wonderful job helping us navigate the palace and explaining the importance of the different rooms. We really enjoyed the free time after to explore the gardens though we wish we had a bit more time for that. I’d recommend this tour again and again!
I think if you have more time in Paris, you should schedule more time at Versailles but this was perfect for a taste of it! We only had a couple days in Paris so this was a perfect way to see Versailles! The ride was very comfortable, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We had such a wonderful morning and are so glad we picked this one! I want to shout out our awesome tour guide but I’m blanking on his name (I should really write this stuff down) but it was the May 12 8:15 am pink group!
Guide was great, tour was good fantastic place to visit highly recommend BUT, the driver was a dangerous driver.
A great day with excellent tour guide Nicolas. Apart from his informative commentary I especially liked the way he kept us all informed over the commentary headsets where he was in each room as we progressed through the Palace. This kept the group together which was especially helpful as my wife was in a wheelchair. The wheelchair had been arranged at short notice that morning by Paris Tours as she was coping with an injury that had worsened in recent weeks after I had made our booking. A great day thanks to all the help we received.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are delighted to hear that you had a great day at Versailles with Nicolas. He will be very happy to know that his commentary and organization helped make the visit smooth and enjoyable for your group. We are also pleased that we could assist with the wheelchair arrangement at short notice and help make the day more comfortable for your wife. Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you again in Paris soon! Best regards, Paris TRIP Team
We were going to try this tour on our own and opted to a small group tour. we are so glad we did this! Passed the general admission lines and had an amazing tour guide.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your small group tour and that it made your visit to Versailles even more enjoyable. Skipping the long lines and discovering the Palace with a great guide truly makes the experience special! We hope to welcome you again in Paris soon. Best regards, Paris TRIP Team
Lots of steps and uneven cobble stone but well worth seeing. Guide was very informative and professional. Oliver was great
Michelle was AMAZING!! Her knowledge of Versailles was incredible! She was also extremely animated which made her explanations even more interesting. Versailles itself is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen! One tip - schedule the earliest tour you can get, the lines get very long.
