Sadly I am not able to rate this as 0. If you are thinking of going to this performance, think again. I have seen better, more professional productions at infant schools. The costumes and wigs looked like they had been retrieved from a child’s dressing up box. The production made no sense and its only saving grace was that it was sooo (unintentionally) dreadful that we found it hysterical. You can meet the cast afterwards and listen to them bragging about their wonderful performance, how they have travelled the world and how much more amazing the show is on a big stage! Hilarious, but for all the wrong reasons.
I feel really mean rating this show so harshly but we a number of issues. - First and foremost they recommend you arrive 30 minutes before the show. It's down a small side street and quite easy to miss but 10 minutes would probably be enough unless you want to get a drink at the bar. In the theatre itself, an endless loop of short teasers and snippets of the history of black light made the 30 minute waiting time really crawl. Just too repetitive. - Overall the show wasn't like any of the traditional black light shows we've seen on previous visits to Prague. Kudos to the company for trying something different but for the most part it just felt like a not particularly good dance show performed in low light. That said, there was actually too much light on stage due to the use of projected images which killed the impact of any black light elements. The narrative was also lost on us as short scenes played out on screen between dance sequences. - There were 2 nice sections - a sequence with a floating mask that came right up to the front row and another lovely sequence where lots of well choreographed fluorescent hands suddenly appeared around one of the characters. - Sadly the rest of the show just gel for us.
If this was intended to be a farce, they nailed it. However I don't think that was their plan and it was not advertised as such. The show was 70 min long and the seats were quite hard, after 30 minutes most in the audience were fidgeting.
My family and I bought tickets from Spain to attend a performance of Teatro Negro in Prague and found a venue without security measures. The show had nothing to do with the real black theatre in Prague. The scenery and costumes were very poor and unprofessional. Far removed from what we expected, although we had fun with some of the scenes.
I went to a Black Theatre show a few years ago and this is a disgrace by comparison. It was the worst show I've ever been to. I don't understand how you're still doing. Please don't go, you're gonna regret it just getting to the place. I wanted to leave after 5 minutes, but my daughter started laughing at how bad I was and I decided to stay. The place is disgusting, dangerous and unprofessional. It has nothing to do with it being ancient. It is not well cared for and is unsafe. We don't know if people were drunk, but they definitely looked like it. The performance is mediocre and looks more like a preschool work, you can see the extras and the objects that they use 100%, it is uncoordinated, boring and has zero consistency. There was too much light and everything was visible. They incorporate a projector, "shadow" theater and the only interactive thing was that they threw a balloon at us. People in the audience were more entertained laughing at each other than at the same presentation. Its only entertainment value is involuntary comedy.
Nice new experience. Idyllic old place and friendly service. Been to many kind of theathers but never in a black light one. Special thanks to Theo ☺️
Great entertainment! It was a very pleasant evening, engaging and fun. Our group was of very different ages, but everyone enjoyed the show.

Wishing you many more magical nights! With gratitude, Theo & the HILT Team
HILT BlackTheatre is definitely one of the things you should not miss when visiting Prague! It is a captivating performance that combines clever visual effects and energetic music while telling a story of love, life and things we lost and found again. Preformance are often interactive and will keep you engaged and entertained. It is facinating to find out in the end how few actors are actually performing in various roles, and how well put together is the music, dance and the entire story line. HILT BlackTheatre also has excellent reputation outside Czechia, and succesfully "exports" the black theatre magic to countries such as India and elsewhere.
Dear guest, What a wonderful review! Thank you for capturing the spirit of what we aim to do – connect through visual storytelling, music, and a touch of magic, no matter where you’re from. We’re truly happy to hear that our message of love and life spoke to you. You made our day! Warmest wishes, Theo & everyone at HILT
"The light show was extremely amateur. The visuals lacked imagination and failed to impress, leaving the audience underwhelmed. The sound quality was subpar, making it hard to enjoy any of the music. Overall, it was a very poor-quality experience. Would not recommend."
Dear Shana, Thank you for your honest opinion. Not every performance is for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. Art can divide as much as it connects. We appreciate you took the time to share your perspective. Wishing you many better experiences in Prague. — Theo
Great team – gave it their all! The show was 1.5 hours of creativity, humor, and impressive effects. If you're in Prague, don't miss the HILT Black Light Theatre – it's a true cultural highlight. I would definitely go again!
