With the help of the third generation of Prodan family members, you will discover behind the scenes of the fascinating truffle world and this precious ingredient as one of the most expensive food in the world . Accompanied by the truffle dogs, first we will go to look for truffles which we will need to cook a delicious truffle meal. After variety of truffle starters, ladies from the family will show you how to make the best traditional scrambled eggs with freshly found truffles. You will be able to see all the ingredients and preparation from start to finish, by finding out little secrets of creating this memorable dish. Every single meal will have truffles, even the salad! You will discover the traditional truffle dishes of Istria prepared with the freshest ingredients, all while learning about truffle history and observing breathtaking views on the old town of Buzet. All meals can be adapted to vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, and gluten free diets, with prior notice.

We were blessed to spend time with Visnjna and her brother Marko at their beautiful truffle farm. We visited on a brutally hot day and were warned that our canine truffle detective, Capo, might not want to do much truffle hunting. Capo seemed to hear this comment and was most definitely upset with this insult to his work ethic. He proceeded to quickly locate and dig up a truffle and then another and then another. After our successful hunt we spent time chatting with Visjna while she served us yummy truffle delicacies - charcuterie, eggs, and ice cream with truffle honey. Accompanied by elderflower water made by her father All were delicious. Prior to leaving, Marko took us up to his office so we could purchase some of their products to take home with us. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Croatia. Highly recommend.
This was one of the best experiences EVER!! Our guide, Vladana, spoke so highly of this family, and the tradition that is being carried on by the younger generation, that we were afraid we’d be disappointed — exceeded expectations. SO FUN to tromp around the forest w/Marko and Capo, our adorable & exuberant truffle hunting puppy. Even better to go back and eat our bounty: truffle canapés; scrambled eggs covered in truffles prepared by the lovely Visnja; nice wine; ice cream w/truffle honey — all so good we had to take some home, so we can remember these great people, the passion they have for what they do, and the obvious love they have for each other.
Wow! There are no words to properly describe our experience at Prodan Tartufi! Mirko and Veronica were outstanding hosts! From welcoming us to their truffle ‘farm’, teaching us about all things truffles, how they train their dogs to hunt for truffles, and how to best enjoy the truffles in a 4 course meal - charcuterie board, mixed truffle salad, truffles and handmade fuzi pasta and finishing the meal off with vanilla and truffle honey ice cream! The lunch was fabulous! And truly enjoyable in an amazing environment with a spectacular view! Now the truffle hunt! Mirko brought Sky a pure breed Italian Water dog also known as a Lagotto Romagnolo! Unfortunate Sky just had a haircut and kind of look cute and ugly at the same time. 😍. Sky managed to find 9 truffles within a span of 30-45 minutes! Something Mirko said doesn’t always happen! Then again Mirko did explain that ripe truffles do send of scents after a heavy rain followed by sun and increasing temperatures! As for the products offered by Prodan Tarfuti, they’re all awesome! We bought almost everything we tried at lunch! Best of all the prices are pretty reasonable at least from a Canadian perspective! Do keep in mind that this is a once in a life time opportunity to buy such wonderful products that we don’t get in Canada! As of this post, Mirko did say he’s working on offering their products online with deliveries to Canada so we’ll be able to place orders in the future! Yippee! Highly recommend this experience! Best part is that this is a very intimate experience that offers a very personal experience! Again Mirko and Veronica were outstanding hosts and I wish them every success in the future! Thanks for an extremely memorable experience! And we love your dogs 🐶!

The experience was perfect in every way! We learned about the history of truffles in the region and how the dogs are raised and trained to hunt (Kappo the dog was so sweet!). The private tour was great and the food was delicious! We highly recommend this family run business!
This was an amazing experience. We were greeted by Veronica who was very hospitable and Mika (hopefully this is right) who took us out hunting with Kappo the dog. It was cool to watch the dog search for the truffles. The food that was prepared was excellent and the grounds and buildings were impeccable. Highly recommended tour. It was also a lovely drive through the countryside. A great day overall.

Beautiful, authentic place with friendly people running the business. The dogs are well-treated and seem very happy. The information provided about hunting, growing, and using truffles is fascinating. The food is delicious, full of amazing truffle experiences. Five-star quality products are available for purchase after the truffle hunt, and the overall experience is wonderful. Warmly recommended – totally worth the 2500 km journey that we did to experience the place.
Very dear , small, hospitable family business. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared. In my opinion, the truffle hunt could have been a little more extensive.
