Truffle hunting + gourmet tasting (transfer included)

We had a wonderful time hunting for truffles in the woods with Gina, the adorable truffle-hunting dog, and her truffle-hunter-master. Carmen who managed the whole experience, prepared a delicious lunch featuring the truffles we found, and explaining the different varieties and how they grow. Her lovely farmhouse with fireplace was a cozy and comfortable spot for a memorable meal and unique experience. Getting outside the city and enjoying the Tuscan countryside was a highlight of our trip to Florence.

From the very first contact with Carmen, everything was exceptional. I was bringing my entire company, 28 people, to Tuscany, and I had been searching for truffle hunt farms for weeks. Many places told me that the time of year I was coming (November 2025) was not good for truffles, and even though they said they could receive us, they didn’t inspire much hope. Carmen was completely different. From the first message, she was warm, excited, and incredibly kind. She said they could prepare a lunch for us, and she immediately made me feel confident that our group would have a memorable experience. She even asked if I wanted them to prepare small gifts for our employees. They created beautiful truffle paste jars, added our company logo, and even offered to handwrite a small dedication for each one. It was one of the sweetest and most thoughtful gestures ever. When we arrived at the farm, it had been raining, but Carmen had already prepared 28 pairs of rain boots for all of us. Truly amazing. The two dogs, Vasco and Bruno, were adorable and such skilled truffle hunters. Our guide was fantastic. It was beautiful to see his relationship with the dogs, how he trained them, and how much he loves them. Alyssa, our other wonderful guide, explained everything to us with so much passion. She even told us it would be rare to find white truffles, and yet we found two huge ones on the property. The whole group exploded with joy. We also found many black truffles, and every time the dogs started digging and brought a truffle to their trainer, we celebrated like crazy. Our group said it was the best meal we had in Italy. We were welcomed with so much love and care from start to finish. GRAZIE MILLE A TUTTI! We will definitely be back.

This was a bucket list activity to do with my family! The Viator tour was contracted through Mugello &Tuscany, a small tour operator in Tuscany. It was well coordinated and an experience none of us will forget. We went for a hike (appropriate for older kids) with the chef Cristian and an experienced guide with his trained dog. It was so fun watching the dog's nose in action. We found about 10 truffles and used them in a gourmet pasta cooking class after. The villa is gorgeous--great for photos to remember the experience. Couldn't have been better!

We booked the truffle hunt and cooking class! It was amazing! Gina the truffle dog found 10 truffles and had an amazing pasta class with chef Simone. This has been on my bucket list for a long time and could not imagine a better experience!!!

Our truffle hunting experience was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Watching Portos find truffles was a joy. After the beautiful hike, we enjoyed delicious appetizers and charcuterie with truffle shavings. The staff was so flexible to accomodate our vegan and allergy dietary requests. Our driver, Andrea, was also really friendly and knowledgeable. Carmen was super helpful organizing our adventure and our transportation. Thank you for a wonderful adventure!

This was a wonderful experience which I would highly recommended . It was quite an experience watching Claudio, and his dog Gina, hunt for truffles . It wasn’t just the hunt but their amazing relationship too. Paolo, who was our guide for the trip, is a very informative and friendly guide who really took pride in showing us the beautiful Tuscan countryside . We had to make additional arrangements for a pick up because we didn’t drive and it turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to see more of the surrounding areas. Paolo took us for a quick stop at the beautiful town of Scarperia and also to have a quick peek at the famous Mugello circuit . I find that the company was very flexible with arrangements this way and being able to add this on made our experience an even more enriching one. After the truffle hunt, we were served a huge lunch which was prepared by the very warm and talented Simona. The people we met were all lovely. I think that we were so lucky to have found the Mugello and Tuscany tour company because that day was certainly a highlight of our trip.

We had a great experience! Despite the rain, everything was prepared so great, that we stayed dried and enjoy our experience so much!! Will definitely come back!!

We went truffle hunting for black truffles on a beautiful, crisp sunny day in February. Our guides (we had two, one Paolo who spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about truffles and the history of Italy generally) and the other a dog trainer and professional truffle hunter with decades of experience. We found about 8-9 truffles, it was an authentic experience and the kids absolutely loved it. We also bought the truffles we found at the end and were given clear instructions on how to package and keep them fresh, so we could enjoy cooking with them on our return. Highly recommend the experience and we'd very much do it again, maybe in white truffle season to see the difference.
