Tromsø: Sommarøy Island Road Trip with Fjord Viewpoint Stops

Description
- We often see reindeers during this trip, even thought we cannot guarantee it, as we will find them randomly on the wilderness. - You can choose to add a meal during checkin - it will be served at a local Norwegian restaurant in the island of Sommarøy - A great sightseeing road trip from Tromsø to experience the raw, wild nature of Northern Norway. - This is your chance to discover what makes this region unique, including the stunning Arctic fjords, the dramatic coastline, and even a rare sandy beach, often dusted with snow. Your local guide will lead you through Tromsø's wilderness to the very best photo stops, sharing fascinating stories about the local history and culture that make this destination so memorable. To provide a personal experience, we aim to travel in small groups of 8-15 guests by minibus. However, please note that during the peak high-season, we may occasionally run with two groups together on a comfortable, larger coach to accommodate demand.

Fantastic scenery and a great few hours out. If you are looking to learn about the area, it’s history and culture, then this trip is not for you. It was more of a photo op trip. This was a bit disappointing. On the drive back we didn’t even stop once even though we passed some really good spots for photos - we asked to stop as we saw reindeers passing by but that didn’t even warrant a slow down by our guide. As said, a nice few hours out but don’t expect to learn anything about the area.
The car was a disaster - it is a miracle it lasted til trip. The guide was friendly and provided relevant info along the route.
The scenery was very nice, but it is a van tour not a bus, which is good. But it is not for photographers
So disappointed. Changed date with Viator- which they confirmed and issued new voucher for - only to find it hadn’t synced to pick up location so couldn’t join the tour. Then got contacted to ask whether I was coming for the original date that I had changed. So we missed a much anticipated trip altogether.
Antonio was a very friendly, knowledgeable guide He took us to some great places and the scenery was amazing His detail about the places we visited was excellent, very informative! If there's one complaint, if you're sat at the back of the minibus you can't hear what he's saying when driving between destinations, he did try to repeat it at the next stop but still
This tour was just okay over all. Very pretty sights and comfy transportation. However, I do feel a bit ripped off. The description mentions twice “ Plus, stay warm with a hot drink and meal.” it doesn’t say that the meal is an additional cost. It’s 25usd for a pretty small bowl of soup. I think it’s fair to assume that everything in the description is included. It also claims there is a professional photographer. I can’t quite agree with that discription. There’s someone with a nice camera you pay to take photos, but the quality wasn’t any higher than on a phone.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side today, but the heavily falling snow just added a different angle to a great trip. You could just imagine the stunning scenery on a clear day of the fjords on the drive to Sommaroy. Kent was an excellent driver in the scary conditions and very informative.
A beautiful country with lots of sights. Unfortunately, hosts with apartments are very anonymous and have no personal contact with the guest but only via mobile phone
Worthwhile excursion to see the enchanting scenery around Tromsö. Stops were made in between and we had time to take pictures. Got a lot of information about Norway from our friendly guide (from Portugal). The tour is a bit weather dependent, we were lucky to be out in cloudless skies. A dream!
Our tour guide Pedro was very informative & engaging! We would highly recommend the Fjords tour. While there is a bit of driving involved the stunning scenery & ample pit stops along the way to admire the scenery worked really well.
