Transfer between Colombo Airport (CMB) and Coral Sands Hotel, Hikkaduwa

This is an older and maybe a bit old fashioned hotel in a row of huge hotels on the beach road. A friend recommended it so we tried it. My husband and I spent two nights, in one lovely room on the first floor, not facing the ocean, but with side views of the ocean. There were lots of cozy seating arrangements overlooking the mostly empty beach with a beautiful sea breeze. There were also cottages to rent, and an RV rental space on the same property. If you are in need of a quiet, relaxing place to wind down, this is perfect. We thought we might be able to walk some, but the only place near the hotel really was the beach, and we did that. Restaurants were within driving distance, some farther than others. The desk clerk said many people booked there for family reunions and I think the place is great for that, but since it was just the two of us, we felt a little bored after a while. We did drive in to Daytona Beach just to check it out. It was about 25 minutes down the road. The hotel provides coffee and hot water in the lobby.

We had a great time at Crystal Sands Hikkaduwa. Friendly staff, specially Mrs.Dilki, kindly served us. We enjoyed lot.
