Homemade food by three excellent cooks

Lakshmi, Rajeshree and Sharmila are like three magicians , druids or even dancers moving easily among pans, stoves, spices and food. We enjoyed watching them organising their pristine kitchen and listening to their cooking advices and steps. We tasted the food and it literally takes your breath away. It has yummy homemade flavours that stays in your palate and mind for a long time. We cooked palak panner, poori, rice, salad, subji, chapati, white chana curry and dhal. Simply delicious.Highly recommended.

Learn to cook like in a family

It was really very nice. There were four of us, and we learned a lot about Indian cuisine and spices. It felt like being part of a family, and I would recommend it to everyone.

Home style Indian cooking class

We had a great time prepping and cooking along with the ladies and contributing to a worthy cause at the same time. Very enjoyable few hours and a tasty meal to finish it off.

Home cooking with care

We had a great couple of hours prepping and cooking along with the ladies and learning some Indian vegetarian home cooking skills. Close to where we were staying in the Westin and a little off the beaten track but a great experience and the food was delicious. Was just the two of us so easy to get involved in the cook and helps contribute to a very good cause in Project Tres. A nice start to the day and a very tasty lunch.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're really glad you enjoyed the hands-on experience and getting involved in the cooking. It’s wonderful to hear that the smaller group made it even more engaging and personal. We’re also happy the location worked out well for you, even if it’s a little tucked away—it does add to that authentic home-style feel! Most importantly, thank you for supporting Project Tres and the women behind it. We’d love to welcome you back anytime for another delicious morning and lunch!

A lovely experience

Cooking together with women from the local community was truly special. We learned how to prepare several dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. But beyond the cooking, what made it memorable was the sharing — learning a little more about the women, their stories and the project behind it. A beautiful moment of connection that I would absolutely encourage anyone to experience as well!

Operator response

Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We’re truly glad the experience felt special to you—not just the cooking, but the connections and stories shared along the way. It means a lot to hear that the time spent with the women and learning about their journeys made such a lasting impression. Creating those moments of connection is at the heart of what we do. We really appreciate your encouragement to others, and we hope to welcome you back again someday for another meaningful (and delicious!) experience.

Great value, delicious food, female-owned

What a fantastic company! The ladies were lovely from start to finish, we got to learn a lot about the project, how it started 10 years ago from 2 ladies, now it is empowering over 15 ladies in the community. The project has even spread to Kenya and other countries. The cooking class itself was fantastic, and very worth the price. We made lots of lovely dishes and did not need anything else to eat all day! Thank you so much to the wonderful ladies for this fantastic experience.

Fantastic, clean and interesting

We had a terrific time learning to cook a true Goan meal. We are so happy to support this mission and bought some home made items as a souvenir. They provide a pdf of the menu and recipes after. Thank you so much. By the way the kitchen was superbly clean, even though we chopped things on a little stool on the floor!! Great fun.

Highly recommended for amateur chefs

We attended the cooking class in January. The house is a bit hard to find. But the women wanted to put appropriate signs here. That should end this problem. The Project Tres is a great foundation that supports women in need. The cooking classes support the project. In the cooking class we prepared four vegetarian dishes and two breads together. We learned a lot about Indian kitchen tools, spices and preparation methods and could participate anywhere. At the end of the c. 3 hour cooking class we then ate the delicious prepared dishes.

Perfect activity for foodies

The cooking course was amazing! The two ladies were so kind and sweet and let us prepare all the food if we wanted to (which we did!). The recipes were really yummy. We cooked a whole menu in great company! 100% recommend if you are interested in the Goan/Indian cuisine. We took some spices home and will definitely try to recreate these yummy dishes!

Wonderful way to meet local women and learn hands on cooking

Wonderful experience cooking and sharing a meal with Rajashree and Shamilila. We helped prepare our meal w wonderful fresh ingredients, we were able to ask questions and learn how to juggle the preparation of 5 dishes, Puri and Chapatti. We went straight out to the market to buy our own Chapatti / Puri rolling pins and boards. Unfortunately we can’t fit the coconut shredding seat in our bags. It’s great to know we were supporting a women’s ngo. Highly recommend.
