We had an insightful 2.5 hours with Roxanne- a French woman now living in Valparaiso. The murals and art work are amazing- a guide is important as I am not confident we would have found these highlights
our tours went beautifully. Roxane led our group and she was excellent. Patient with those who were a little slower. Waited till all were together to talk and projected when she talked and everyone could hear her very well. Super tour guide. Definitely recommend her again. Matthieu was with Howard Martin and he was the same. Not hurried and very knowledgeable about Tours history and architecture. Definitely recommend on our list. Roberto was with our third group and comments from everyone were negative. He spoke very low and was hard to hear. Impatient and when asked to slow down as many were falling behind he said NO. Had a lot of the town to cover in 2 hours. We would definitely make a point of not recommending him.
Just had a historical walking tour in Wexford town with tour guide Paul Walsh. It was just amazing . Paul is from Wexford and tell the history of the town from the heart . I have lived in Wexford nearly 20 years and did not know some of the places he brought us to even existed . Wexford has so much history and wonderful buildings I can highly recommend this tour
Our guide was inexperienced and basically walked us from site to site, recited a brief summary of the site, and shared no general history of the city. We could have done the same with a map from the Tourist Information Bureau. Basically silence between sites. We requested an English speaking guide and I would rate her English at average or below. Very nice lady but no passion or enthusiasm for what she was sharing.
While our guide was pleasant the tour was, at best, disappointing. . Very little (or no )information was given about the historical sites. The primary source of information was the plaques we stopped to read in front. In short, we felt there was no real benefit from this ( expensive) tour.
Dear Mary Jean, we are very sorry for this bad experience that you had, and we do not understand as we work with this tour guide for quite a while and all went well so far. We will let her know. Regards Joe for AKOPSO
